dovecot starts and then exit
I've just installed dovecot on FreeBSD 6.1. Running MySQL 5.0 on another
server. Postfix version 2.3.3
Dovecot starts then exits with no error messages.
I've run it as a daemon and on the command line with -F option
How do I run it in debug mode so I can figure out why it does not stay
running.

dovecot pop3s delivers new messages as old (unread) messages ...
I just set up dovecot on fedora core 3 with only pop3s protocol
enabled. On my client machine, I use fetchmail to get the mail and
then go through procmail and eventually ready by mutt.
Everything seems to work fine, except that all new emails are marked
old unread emails (i.e., marked with 'O' flag instead of 'N'). This
is annoying because some open source lists are so large

dovecot immediately exits on Fedora 2
I "upgraded" my server running UW-IMAP on Fedora 1,
to Fedora 2, which defaults to Dovecot. Unfortunately,
the server refuses connecions from my client (Mozilla).
It seems that Dovecot immediately exits:
ps aux|grep dovecot shows nothing.
Also, if I manually start up dovecot, it immediately
exits, with no messages. (It does at least parse the
config file, since tweaking that gives me

dovecot memory consumption beta vs. old "stable" series
Hi!
I just wanted to know if anyone can give a definitive answer if dovecot
beta's memory requirements are much better than in the old pre-alpha
"stable" series?
I'm using a rather old stable.20050712 release on an also rather old
Debian Sarge box to manage my personal mails. I'm pretty satisfied with
this dovecot release but it's memory consumption when deleting

proc:::exit not firing
I have a funny issue whereby when a application exits the proc:::exit
probe doesn''t seem to be firing.
A customer has written a dtrace script that outputs some info whenever
proc:::exit fires but on occasion (random, no pattern in behaviour)
dtrace exits without outputting the data.
They are running dtrace via ''dtrace -s exit_trace.d -p <pid>''
Can anyone think

Wine exits immediately to debugger (_dl_relocate_object -- glibc2.2.3)
added --prefix=/usr/local/wine to CONFARGS in file). When I try to
run any program with any sort of system of calling wine it exits
immediately and starts the debugger with something like the following
trace.
I notice that the trace seems to end in a call to dl-reloc.c. I don't
know if this is a bogus message produced by something else, but I did
build glibc2.2.3 from source awhile ago.

[PATCH nbdkit] server: When using --run, wait for captive nbdkit to exit.
I'd like to propose we backport this to 1.18 and some earlier stable
branches too.

Exit Codes on Reverse Tunnel bug?
I ran the following command to create a reverse tunnel from another server back to my local host

Busy(20) returns non-zero and exits immediately on IAX channel
Hi,
I'm running Asterisk 1.4.26.3 and I've noticed an interesting problem
when trying to play a Busy tone over a IAX trunk from the PSTN.
It seems as though Busy(20) returns non-zero immediately (it does not
wait 20s), so the caller never hears the busy tone, but
the call just appears to hang up.
I don't believe this happens when trying to play a Busy on a SIP trunk.

CTRL+D exits Asterisk immediately
hi all
when typing 'exit', asterisk complains and tells me to use STOP NOW, but not
with CTRL+D! CTRL+D stops Asterisk immediately, also when calls are in
progress (when asterisk is started with -c). Any chance to change this
behaviour?

Dovecot v1.0.3 -> Sieve "redirect" command returning Sendmail exit status 75
Hello!
My local setup here is Exim 4.68, DSPAM 3.8.0 and Dovecot 1.0.5. Entirely

authentication for Exim.
What I am having problems with, is a simple sieve script to redirect a
message that matches the "X-DSPAM-Result" header as "Spam" to another email
address.

Hi,
I just did a clean install of
Ruby 1.8.5
Rubygems 0.9.0
and the Mongrel and Mongrel_Cluster gems.
I used only the Debian Etch package manager, nothing compiled myself.
Now, on a testapp when I do a script/server, I get the:

[PATCH libnbd] lib/errors.c: Fix assert fail in exit path in multi-threaded code
When a highly multi-threaded program such as nbdcopy encounters an
error, there is a race condition in the library which can cause an
assertion failure and thus a core dump:
(1) An error occurs on one of the threads. nbdcopy calls exit(3).
(2) In lib/errors.c, the destructor calls pthread_key_delete.
(3) Another thread which is still running also encounters an error,
and inside libnbd the
