Dovecot still failing with RC10...
Hello, I mentioned back with version RC8 that dovecot was having an
issue with the first login working, but all subsequent attempts
failing with the error message: "Error: Maximum number of mail
processes exceeded" in the dovecot log file.
This is with an unchanged working conf file from RC7 (which, aside
from comments, nothing has changed config-wise in the conf from version RC7).

Samba SWAT 2.2.7 Doesn't Work in Redhat8.0?
Hello All Samba-list Members,
I have installed a Samba 2.2.7, the samba-latest.tar.gz, as a PDC on a
Redhat8.0 GNU/Linux server. ( Of course, I first uninstalled the original
samba that came with the Redhat installation CDs by rpm -e samba*.) The
installation was successful. Then I modified /etc/services and
/etc/xinetd.d/swat as suggested in the installation document uncompressed

hpa-tftp with xinetd
Good day,
Just a quick question- could someone please confirm that this is the correct
xinetd configuration (or not) for hpa-tftp?
We've noticed that, when under moderate load hpa-tftpd resides in memory,
even after there are no connections or even if xinetd is shut down. Under
light load the server goes away after each connection, as desired.
Thanks in advance!

Can't run POP3 and IMAP simultaneously from xinetd...
Hello all, I'm hoping you can help out with an issue I'm having
running dovecot-beta8 on Solaris 9 (SPARC). The reason I need to run
them from xinetd is that we require the filtering ability that
tcp_wrappers provide.
My issue is that, when running both from xinetd, IMAP runs fine, but
then, when you try to POP in to check mail on the same box, it seems
that the login section is

looking for stunnel configuration file for /etc/xinetd.d/
Hi all
Does anyone have a config file for stunnel, to work with /etc/xinetd.d?
Stunnel's man page does mention it can work with xinetd, but there's
no sample configuration for it.

EL6, xinetd, and permissions. What am I missing?
Staging for a rollout of EL 6, and ran into a very strange permissions issue
with xinetd that defies all (my) logic.
It's a script called "spfiled" that we use for messaging between our server
cluster servers. I'm trying to get it to run with "least permissions
necessary". Because it reads/writes files in conjunction with a web-based
service, it runs as user

socket_type = stream
protocol = tcp
port = 1234
wait = no
user = root
server = /usr/sbin/asterisk

Permission denied when running from xinetd
Hey folks,
When I run rsyncd from xinetd and try to rsync I will get permission
denied error:
rsync: chdir /home/test failed : Permission denied (13)
If I shutdown xinetd and start standalone daemon ( rsync --daemon
--config /etc/rsyncd.conf) everything works as expected.
This is my xinetd config for rsync:
service rsync
{
disable = no
socket_type = stream

xinetd and pop3
Is this the best way to get dovecot's pop3 process to run under xinetd? This
is what I did after I installed postfix and dovecot.
I am using Debian. I am using the dovecot local delivery agent.

This is what I see about ssl if I just run nrpe on the client without any
flags:

Yep! Both hosts have nagios user accounts.
Demonstrating from the client:
[root at ops:~] #id nagios
uid=2002(nagios) gid=2002(nagios) groups=2002(nagios),2008(nagioscmd)
And this is from the monitoring server:

SWAT
I was playing with this on my test machine, (redhat 5.2, samba 2.0.3)
worked great, and I was really impressed.
So I decided to install this on my office machine. (redhat 4.2, samba
2.0.3) and the only significant difference is that on the
office machine, I use encrypted passwords.
I cannot get swat to authenticate on the second machine. That is, no
matter what account, password combination
