Sorting by Sender Name
Dear Timo, Posted this originally to the squirrelmail list but they said that sorting is done server side so concluded I needed to talk to you: ============= I feel there is an error in the logic of the sort by From column. If you sort by this column, the messages are re-ordered in alphabetical order using the *email address* as the sorted word. However most people these days have their

add inotify support to dovecot
Hi, attached patch against test76 adds inotify support and the --with-notify=... configure option that defaults to the current check for dnotify using no special method if dnotify cannot be compiled, and can be set to none, dnotify and inotify. If it is set to dnotify or inotify, failure to compile a test program results in an error. Also, it adds | file change notification method ..... :

weird IDLE behaviour
Hi, So I was testing things with inotify notifications enabled and noticed that when I a) select a mailbox other than the inbox b) IDLE c) copy mail into the /new folder in that mailbox nothing happens! So I straced it and it always opens the inbox's new/ and cur/ directories for notifications. Is that the correct behaviour? I assumed that if I select some mailbox other than the inbox, IDLE

Thread sorting problem
I've just installed Dovecot on a Debian Sarge machine and am seeing some very strange thread sorting. In Mozilla Mail and Thunderbird on both Fedora and Debian clients my threads served up by Dovecot look like this (number denotes message time): |-11 | `-12 |-2 |-3 |-4 | `-5 | `-6 | `-7 | `-8 |-1 `-9 `-10 Where the exact same threads served by Sendmail/imap look like this:

Someone should at least mention that they should support the real SPECIAL-USE instead of just Gmail-specific XLIST.. Replacement in an expression - can't use parse()
Dear all, Suppose I have a very long expression e. Lets assume, for simplicity, that it is e = expression(u1+u2+u3) Now I wish to replace u2 with x and u3 with 1. I.e. the 'new' expression, after replacement, should be: > e expression(u1+x+1) My question is how to do the replacement? I have tried using: > e = parse(text=gsub("u2","x",e)) > e =

[LLVMdev] [lld] LLD's software architecture (update)
The inverted dependency of Core to ReaderWriter via Simple.h was already present. My idea was to fix the problem before it gets bigger. My proposal would be to move Simple.h and Alias.h to Core. Similar to UndefinedAtom.h etc. It would be even nicer to make the naming consistent as well, since there already is UndefinedAtom.h SharedLibaryAtom.h etc Maybe: SimpleAtom.h AliasAtom.h Moving the file

IMAP threading - the THREAD command
Hi folks, there's an extension [1] to IMAP specifying the THREAD command to return list of message sequence numbers grouped to indicate the threading of them. That draft currently defines two algorithms, one of them based solely on Subjects (which is rather dumb) and the second one, combining Subjects with In-Reply-To (etc) headers. The second method is actually advertised and supported by

Sorting a folder (by THREAD) takes a long time
My email workflow with Dovecot is that mail gets delivered to INBOX, where I handle it and then move it into a folder called archive. I have alpine set to use the Default sort of "THREAD" of a folder. After moving a (few) mail(s) from INBOX to archive, archive takes a long time (10-50s) to load while alpine tells me: [Sorting "archive" ... ] (I

Samba Domain Controller Help
Hi I am trying to setup a Domain controller on my home network for testing and I am running into a bit of a problem. Everytime I try to authenticate to the domain I get refused. I have completely read the domain controller how-to that is supplied with Samba 2.28. I follow all of the directions and still nothing. When I attempt to authenticate though it tells me that I don't have the right

enabling IMAP SORT and THREAD extensions
Hi all, The home page of the Dovecot website indicates: "Supports multiple commonly used IMAP extensions, including SORT, THREAD and IDLE." However, I cannot find instructions in the Wiki for how to enable these extensions. Can someone tell me how to do this? I will add this info to the Wiki myself if need be. Thanks. ----- Colin Brace Amsterdam http://lim.nl -- View this

Solaris binary distribution question /usr/local
HI! I am trying to configure the samba 2.2.7 binary from sunfreeware ( package for Solaris 7). Is there any way to override the default install location of /usr/local/samba for the lock files? I do not have access to /usr/local as it is NFS mounted and shared by all Solaris 7 boxes. I can pkgadd to a different root path, and I can -s the config file to the install location, but I cannot

[PATCH] average: change to declare precision, not factor
From: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg at intel.com> Declaring the factor is counter-intuitive, and people are prone to using small(-ish) values even when that makes no sense. Change the DECLARE_EWMA() macro to take the fractional precision, in bits, rather than a factor, and update all users. While at it, add some more documentation.
