Help - Serious samba problem with Excel
Hi,
Damn I hate upgrades. After updating at the weekend to FreeBSD 5.4-R in
a fresh install our samba server just doesn't want to play ball.
I have managed to get Samba3 working ok apart from when it comes to
using Excel documents. If a user has an excel document open and another
user tries to open it, Excel 2003 will fail with 'Unable to open the
file, it may be read-only or

Adding users by ignoring unix password file
Hi,
Is it possible to add users/change passwords for users in samba
without it being dependant on anything in the UNIX password file?
For example I want to add a user to my samba password file without
them existing in the UNIX password file.
If anyone has any RTFM info they can kick me in it would be most
appreciated :)
Thanks

[LLVMdev] Enhancing the Trident compiler
Hi,
Would anyone happen to know if there are any efforts underway
at enhancing the Trident compiler?
Some of the things that I would like to add to the Trident compiler
are :
a. Support for compiling multiple C functions in an input file
b. Support for parameter passing
c. Support for functions returning results
d. Support for a C++ front end, and C++ objects
e. Updating the trident

Example Polycom function key config
Hi,
Has anyone here reprogrammed their Polycom features keys using
sip/ipmid.cfg?
If so I would be really grateful if someone could send me an example as
I have tried various entries for hours now and don't seem to be getting
anywhere.
Any help appreciated.

Polycom 301's drop last two digits of dialed number
Hi All,
Having a rather annoying problem with the Polycom 301 phones, suspect it
to be my dialplan.
Basically if you lift the receiver off the handset and dial a number, it
will not let you dial a number longer than 10 digits (Can see this being
acceptable in US, but in UK its a right pain). As soon as the 10th digit
is entered, it starts to dial and the number is invalid. If the phone is
left

[LLVMdev] Enhancing the Trident compiler
Hi,
I'm not sure, but I think you should do point 'e' first - unless you
want to implement 'a' to 'd' first for 1.5 and then again for 2.4.
Best regards,
Nico

[LLVMdev] Error when attempting to build llvm-gcc-4.2-2.4.source on Mac OS X 10.5.6
Thanks Anton,
Yes, I just realized this. I am going
through the steps now.
So, you're saying that Trident will not work with llvm-2.4?
If I have to use llvm-1.5, which is the corresponding C front end? I
couldn't locate the C front end package on the Trident Compiler
website.
Best regards,

[LLVMdev] Error when attempting to build llvm-gcc-4.2-2.4.source on Mac OS X 10.5.6
Hi,
I'm new to LLVM and I want to setup the Trident Compiler
system on Mac OS X. I downloaded the llvm-gcc-4.2-2.4.source.tar.gz
package, created a build directory and ran the following command to
configure
$ ../src/configure --program-prefix=llvm- --disable-bootstrap --enable-
checking --enable-languages=c,c++
$ make -j 2
Configure works fine, but I get the following error

You haven't configured llvm-gcc properly. Please do read readme.llvm file.
However, afair, Trident was LLVM 1.5-based, and it will require
massive rewrite to use LLVM 2.x
(bytecode format was also changed)

different font and window behaviour w/ diff X servers
Hi:
Like Gerard Patel mentioned on the developer's list I can confirm
that Wine's behaviour _is_ now very dependant on which X server
is used and to top it: also this behaviour is varying quite a bit
depending on the Windows application which is run.
I have font problems with XF86_SVGA on a Trident Video-107PCI
(cheapy-cheapy) and not with XF86_S3 on a Diamond 2000 3D (old).
The problem

[LLVMdev] Enhancing the Trident compiler
Hi Nico,
Yes, that's true! :-) I just listed it in order of
short-comings of the existing compiler.
I've been reading up on existing tools, and it would appear that a
couple of commercial tools exist, most notably Xilinx AutoESL, which
supports C, C++, SystemC and M-code. Others support better C
functionality, e.g. c-to-verilog, which does not have the current

ISOLINUX: Boot problems
Hi,
I'm trying to setup a Linux CD on mashine that will have nothing but a
CDROM. Everything worked fine until I removed the HDD. From this moment on
the CD doesn;t boot. I upgraded to Syslinux 2.0 but with no luck. The error
message I got almost says it all: "Extremely broken BIOS", but can I ask for
help if there some ideas how to fix this, cause if I put the HDD back the CD
boots

Accessing ISDN with avm bluetooth hardware
Hi *,
This is my first message to this list, so I hope I am not breaking any rule with my post.
My question is the following: can I establish a voice connection over an ISDN interface by using a
bluetooth dongle to connect to the ISDN access point?
Here follow the details:
I have compiled and configured asterisk. Everything seems fine except that when I configure

[LLVMdev] LLVM FPGA interface.
Hi LLVM community members.
I downloaded LLVM-GCC4.2 Front-end source code and succefully installed
alongwith LLVM-2.3 on linux x86_64. I think it's front-end has better
optimizations.
I am naive to LLVM environment, my focus is to generate LLVM inermediate
code for FPGA. Are there any resources/links/papers/documents which
discusses LLVM intermediate generation for FPGA needs.
I am aware
