[GSOC 2018] GNU Binutils replacement
Hi Jake, Thank you for your reply! That would explain a lot. What are some ways in which llvm-object still could use work? Depending on how much work remains, maybe it would be an interesting GSOC project? Kind Regards, Sebastiaan Peters ________________________________ From: Jake Ehrlich <jakehehrlich at google.com> Sent: Monday, March 19, 2018 19:49 To: Sebastiaan Peters Cc: llvm-dev

[GSOC 2018] GNU Binutils replacement
> Is there a typo somewhere in there? "llvm-as" and "GNU as" are completely unrelated. It wasn't a typo unfortunately but I should have said llvm-mc. I just googled "llvm as" saw "llvm-as" and thought "oh that must be the GNU CLI compatible version of llvm-mc". That's what making assumptions gets me. I suppose a symlink to llvm-mc or

[GSOC 2018] GNU Binutils replacement
Hi Sebastiaan, I'm not the creator of the this GSOC project but I might be able to help. I'm the author of llvm-objcopy, and the soon to be creator of the symlink llvm-strip to llvm-objcopy (which currently doesn't exist). The reason llvm-objcopy and llvm-strip don't have documentation pages is because I haven't written them yet; I'll get on that! 1. The goal is to work

[GSOC 2018] GNU Binutils replacement
Hello everyone, My name is Sebastiaan Peters, an undergrad student from The Netherlands. The project for creating drop-in replacements for GNU Binutils peaked my interest. It would make my day (or my summer) being able to contribute to such a project. Since I have no experience with llvm besides some basic usage of clang, the first thing I tried was to find out what llvm tools are out there.

[patch] Fix for bug in TLS/SSL for LMTP with chained certificates
Hi, In case of tl;dr: I fixed a bug in TLS support for LMTP which caused chained certificates not to work, and another one which caused certificate read errors to be ignored; the patches are attached to this email. While testing LMTP with TLS and certificate verification by Postfix I discovered that certificate chains are not exchanged properly when using LMTP, even though everything works fine

VT-d and the GPU
Like others on this list I am trying to employ the VTD-NEO patches in Xen 3.2 unstable to assign the internal graphics device to Dom1/Vista. I have removed the Cirrus Logic emulated device from qemu and replaced the Cirrus Logic vgabios with the the actual vgabios from my GPU. However I am hitting an xen assert and was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Below

Fw: [RFC] makedumpfile: xen extraction
Hi, I sent the following e-mail to kexec-mailing list (kexec@lists.infradead.org) since subjects of makedumpfile are discussed on the mailing list. I want to inform this to xen developers since I think this function is useful for xen developers. Thanks. Itsuro Oda (see https://sourceforge.net/projects/makedumpfile/ about makedumpfile command.) boot crash 2.6.16-18 xen kernel
Hi, We are running a Sun Fire X2100 with 4GB RAM. We followed the how-to which we posted on http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/423, using backports packages for a k7-machine. We have one Sun Fire X2100 running a 2.6.16-16 kernel from backports, which is working fine having used the same how-to. Now we are installing another X2100 using the 2.6.16-18 kernel, which is giving some major

sedf: remove useless tracing printk and harmonize comments style.
sched_sedf.c used o have its own mechanism for producing tracing-alike kind of information (domain block, wakeup, etc.). Nowadays, with an even not so high number of pCPUs/vCPUs, just trying to enable this makes the serial console completely unusable, produces tons of very hard to parse and interpreet logging and can easily livelock Dom0. Moreover, pretty much the same result this is struggling to

Distribusion version is three steps down - 0.99.11. Any hints? Thanks a lot. David PS: I have rsynced all maildir Friday and today I

openssl > 0.9.f-4 a must for dovecot 0.99.14 ??
My linux is Redhat AS3 U3, openssl is 0.9.7a-33 I downloaded dovecot 0.99.14 src rpm and rebuild to binary rpm Everything went smooth but I tried to install the dovecot binary rpm, it reported that openssl need >= 0.9.7f-4 Since there are many other rpm packages have dependency on the current version of openssl 0.9.7a-33, so It's not possible to upgrade openssl to 0.9.7f-4 or greater Is

0.99.14-1.1.el3 vs 1.0-0_20.rc7.el3
Hello all, I am new to the list so bear with me. I am testing dovecot out on a test server running RHEL ES 3, I have installed 0.99.14-1.1.el3 and 1.0-0_20.rc7.el3. This server is using the mbox mailbox format, running sendmail, procmail, and using PAM to do authentication to an LDAP server. I get varying results between the two version. 0.99.14-1.1.el3 : Upon installing this I leave
