more unexpected results from 0.99.13 -> 1.0beta8 upgrade
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Just to give some more information about this: Apparently some of our POP3 users are saying that when they checked for new mail this morning that all the mail that was saved on the server was downloaded again as unread mail. I followed the guidelines in the wiki [1] with regards to upgrading from 0.99 to 1.0, made sure the .subscriptions and

Dynamic server address
Hi! My mail server (ubuntu breezey badger) is connected by ADSL and has a dynamic address. I have noticed that, every day after the IP address changes, dovecot is no longer reachable from the net. Iguess this is because dovecot doesn't register this change and continues to listen on a non-existing interface/address. I'm trying to solve this problem by putting a script in /etc/ppp/ip-up/

problems with 1.0beta[78] on RHEL3
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've been running 0.99.13 on RHEL 3 for over a year now and finally decided to upgrade to the 1.0 series. unfortunately, I only have one RHEL 3 machine which is my production machine. So, while doing all my preliminary testing I was doing so on a FC 3 machine. I got everything to a stage where I felt comfortable doing the upgrade but I'm

dovecot pop3s delivers new messages as old (unread) messages ...
I just set up dovecot on fedora core 3 with only pop3s protocol enabled. On my client machine, I use fetchmail to get the mail and then go through procmail and eventually ready by mutt. Everything seems to work fine, except that all new emails are marked old unread emails (i.e., marked with 'O' flag instead of 'N'). This is annoying because some open source lists are so large

quota-rewrite patch & userdb quota overriding
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've spent the past couple of hours trying to figure this out by checking the wiki and googling, but haven't come up with anything that works yet. I just installed dovecot 1.0.14 with the quota-rewrite (1.09) patch and i'm trying to get the quota overridden via a passwd-file type userdb. I had 1.0.13 without the new quota style patched

How to delete only those rows in a dataframe in which all records are missing
Hi, Imagine I have the following data frame: > a <- c(1,NA,3) > b <- c(2,NA,NA) > c <- data.frame(cbind(a,b)) > c a b 1 1 2 2 NA NA 3 3 NA I want to delete the second row. If I use na.omit, that would also affect the third row. I tried to use a loop and an ifelse clause with is.na to get R identify that row in which all records are missing, as opposed to the first

Dovecot default inbox name?
I'm installing dovecot and migrating from mbox to maildir. I've read several articles concerning this process but I can't seem to find the answer to one particular question. What is the default name of the inbox when using maildir format? I need to create this in advance for each user and I don't know what dovecot is expecting for the inbox directory name. -- Andy Cravens

Dovecot-LDA: Development questions
Hello, I'm tinkering with Dovecot-LDA in order to achieve: + Better intergration into sendmail, and + tweaking its way to act on errors. Attached patch is a "brainstorming" like suggestion: a) when sendmail is dropping a message, it spawns the LDA, captures stderr/stdout and, if the LDA returns an exit code != 0, generates either a DSN or, when EX_TEMPFAIL, queues the mail.

about mix type clust algorithm
Hi: I have tried to find the appropriate clust algorithm for mixed type of data. The suggested way I see is: 1. use daisy to get the dissimilarity matrix 2. use PAM/hclust by providing the dissimilarity matrix, to get the clusters but by following this, when the data set grows bigger say 10,000 rows of data, the dissimilarity matrix will be O(n^2), and out of memory will occur. SASL
I've been browsing the wiki and thru my mail-list archives but haven't found an answer. does/can dovecot 0.99.x support authenticating with a SASL database? I'll be setting up a new mail server for my offices using Sendmail/MIMEDefang/ClamAV/etc with dovecot as the IMAP server. I'm not familiar at all with LDAP. I know that sendmail will authenticate to a SASL database and

Arimax with intervention dummy and multiple covariates
Hi I'm trying to measure the effect of a policy intervention (Box and Tiao, 1975). This query has to do with the coding of the model rather than with the particulars of my dataset, so I'm not providing the actual dataset (or a simulated one) in this case, apart from some general description. The time series are of length n=34 (annual observations between 1977 and 2010). The policy

kruskal.test followed by kruskalmc
Hi all, After running kruskal.test I have got results (p<0,005) pointing to reject the hypothesis that the samples were draw from the same population. Howerver when I run the kruskalmc there are no significant differences in any of the multiple comparisons. Is that possible? Some clarification? RHEL 3 and quota problems...
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've just installed 1.0beta9 on my RHEL 3 system and am still getting the problems with the quota-fs returning "invalid argument". I think i've traced the problem down to differences in the quota versions based on the <sys/quota.h> files on RHEL 3 compared to FC3. on the system itself i'm using v2 quotas (with aquota.user
