outgoing call queue.
Hi all, is it possible to make a queue for outgoing calls? That's for preventing "Device '/dev/ttyI 0' is busy" error when having only one line to dialout and many files in /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing folder. So it would call only one call at the time and when it's done it would move to next. Thanx in advance. ~pete

Logging of passwords in plaintext in syslog
Hi, I'm running OpenSSH_3.0p1 and have discovered the following issue.. When using verbose logging and password authentication, if I mistakenly enter the password instead of the username then this is logged in syslog in plain text. I realise that I shouldn't do this ;-), but most OS's native utilities prevent logging the username in this situation. See below for an extract..

Winbind error plaintext password against Windows 2000 Server AD
Hi all, I configured a linux box (Debian Sarge) with Winbind to authenticate against a windows 2000 server AD. After joining the Domain via net rpc join -U Administrator I can get all AD users and groups using wbinfo -u wbinfo -g getent passwd Everything seems to be really fine, but when I try to authenticate against the AD via wbinfo -a testuser%testpass I get: -x-x-x- plaintext

Combining plaintext and plotmath expressions
I searched the archives and did not find a solution, so I pose this question to those well-versed in the use of plotmath and expressions. I have a list of strings in an external CSV file which I wish to use sometimes as plot axis labels and sometimes as plot titles. These strings combine plaintext and a few mathematical expressions (Greek letters, subscripts). Moreover, I sometimes need to

PHP API for Manager - Plaintext auth needed?
Quick question: My PHP script is now able to connect to the manager port and successfully authenticate using MD5. I would strongly prefer not to do plaintext authentication at all. Would anyone object to plaintext authentication being left out? -- JustThe.net Internet & Multimedia Svcs. Plaintext Authentication from Localhost
Hi: It appears that at least at one time, Dovecot supported plaintext authentication from localhost, even if disable_plaintext_auth = yes. To wit, the example configuration file reads: # Disable LOGIN command and all other plaintext authentications unless # SSL/TLS is used (LOGINDISABLED capability). Note that 127.*.*.* and # IPv6 ::1 addresses are considered secure, this setting has no effect

Re : dovecot --Err Plaintext authentication disabled
Thanks I succeed with disable_plaintext_auth = no I think that it's not good for security. I'm looking for security with pop3s. I made a certificate with cacert.org

Allow plaintext auth from local network?
Hi, I have dovecot 1.0rc15 on Debian and would like to allow plaintext auth not only from the local IP address but from the entire local network, but not from everywhere. Is that configurable? I am looking for something like "allow_plaintext_auth = 10.8.0.0/24". Greetings Marc -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc Haber |

disable plaintext auth ... only for some addresses
I'd like to disable plaintext authentication (e.g. only allow authentication that does STARTTLS or connects on SSL/TLS only ports) only for certain (most) IP addresses. I want to exempt a few addresses (users coming over known VPNs). Fortunately, all this is coming in over a firewall (Sonicwall) in which I can NAT traffic by IP address to go to specific port numbers. So, if I can establish

Curious problem: Plaintext authentication disallowed on non-secure (SSL/TLS) [read: all] connections.
Hello all, I've set up a new instance of dovecot 2.0.9 to use as a POP3/IMAP proxy. On trying to login I am told '-ERR Plaintext authentication disallowed on non-secure (SSL/TLS) connections'. I have set 'disable_plaintext_auth = no' (see output of doveconf attached). More curious still is that *this happens for SSL connections too*. Something seems very wrong here. Yelp?

Using plaintext auth and SSL
I'm working with a company that presently has a Linux mailserver which all users have (no shell) accounts on. Mail is accessed via pop3 with plaintext authentication. They want to move to a system using imap with SSL. I'm building them a new server. I'd like to offer both for a while so we can work the bugs out and migrate users over to SSL imap over time. It appears that in order

recover .sieve plaintext from .sievec binary file
Hi, I upgraded a server from an old Linux distribution to a much newer one. In the process, Dovecot got upgraded from v1 to v2. By mistake, I deleted the .sieve plaintext file with all the Sieve filters, but I still do have the .sievec compiled binary. Is there any way to dump the binary file back into plaintext format? Keep in mind, I'm running v2 now, and the binary was made on a v1

Would attempting plaintext auth repeatably cause a DOS and server to crash?
Hey All, I'm just wondering whether this is what caused my server to crash. Started last night in NZ land.
