My dovecot works fine against Active Directory 2003, but not against AD2008
Hi Matthias, thank you very much! that fixed the problem. I had workaround the problem by using "base = ou=xxxx, dc=dom", instead of "base = dc=dom" in the dovecot-ldap.conf.ext file, because that also worked (I don't know why, but the problem happen if you use as base just the domain, but not if you add a second level). But that forced to me to use several userdb/passdb

My dovecot works fine against Active Directory 2003, but not against AD2008
Fran and/or Matthias, Could you publish your doveconf -n? I can't get dovecot to authenticate with my AD. Maybe you have a solution I could try. What mail client(s) are you using? I assume by "AD 2003/8" You mean SBS2003/8 and are therefore using Outlook? --Mark -----Original Message----- > Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2015 17:22:34 +0200 > From: Matthias Lay <matthias.lay at

MSWORD problem after upgrade to samba 3.0.14a
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with Samba 3.0.14a. The problems is after the users connects to a samba share and opens msword, creates a document then does "file|save" Then opens the file and makes changes then does "file|save" again, it comes up and says that the backup copy of the file could not be created and never actually saves

Proxy to gmail help
Hello, I understand the matter of using Dovecot as a forward proxy to Gmail is very popular (and even trivial), but my lack of Dovecot experience took me to at point where I truly need your help... I'm starting my task by trying to have something simple, where I can test connectivity to Gmail by sending a telnet to our Dovecot server. The Dovecot server accepts the telnet request, but for

My dovecot works fine against Active Directory 2003, but not against AD2008
Hello, my dovecot installation has been working fine against AD till we upgrade from AD 2003 to AD 2008. As http://wiki2.dovecot.org/AuthDatabase/LDAP said, now I'm not able to connect AD through 389 port. The port 3268 works fine though. (...) file command returns incorrect MIME type?
Here's the problem: [ben at kepler tmp]# file -i presentation.ppt presentation.ppt: application/msword I see lots of references to this problem, (EG: IMP, PHP bug, etc) all of which conclude, in various forms, "the problem is in your /usr/share/magic.mime, go away". But nowhere (that I've been able to find) is there actually a solution - and even the magic.mime file from

Hi, I'm trying to install Microsoft Word 2002 on Wine, version 1.1.0, running on ubuntu hardy heron, from a dvd called Microsoft Works Suite 2004 (German) that came bundled with my computer, and I've run into some kind of endless loop. MSWord97 installs properly but still won't launch (or save?)
Dear friends: I've been trying for some time to install my copy of Word97 (which I own, having purchased it directly from Microsoft with my own license number). I have tried the latest Wine 0.9.14. To do this, I first UNinstalled version 0. 9.1-4 (PCLINUXOS), then installed the new wine from source. The source install asked me to install a number of font files, which I did (bison,

Installing Wine1.2.2 on Mint9
Last year I installed Wine1.1.42 on Mint9 to run MSOffice2000. But MSWord wouldn't work--it would freeze, give error msg, then close. Now I'd like to try again with Wine1.2.2. But not being very tech-savvy, may I ask: Do I need to do anything to prepare for installation of Wine1.2.2? Such as uninstall previous Wine, uninstall MSOffice2000, or anything else? Or can I just install

attachment_fu content_type problem
Hi all.... Admittedly I''m new to Rails and trying to find my way but I''m having an issue with uploading documents with attachment_fu. I have a form where I''m uploading multiple attachments (using AJAX to add file_filed_tags). That seems to work pretty well. The problem is I can''t seem to get the content_type to work as I would expect. For example, if I use

Problem SAVING and LOADING documents in Crossoffice Wine Word97
Dear friends: I am using PCLINUXOS version .92. My problem, simply put, is that I cannot SAVE or LOAD documents in MSWord97 using the older Codeweavers Crossover Office Wine 1.3.5. Thinking the problem might be resolved in the latest Crossover Office 5, I downloaded the Tryout version but the same problem occurs (i.e. at least for me) in this latest version. In fact, it wouldn't even

I have a model called ProductFiles which associates an arbitrary amount of image and documents with a product. Updated Ubuntu 10.04 will not accept Wine MSWord2000
I installed MSWord 2000 with Wine1.2 several weeks ago with no problem; now something has been "upgraded" in Ubuntu so that I cannot install MSWord 2000 anymore on another computer; I get an error message about a security bit being "set". I also tried Wine1.3 Beta, with similar results. Is there any work-around for this? Thank you, krt

How do I install Wordview 97 on Wine 20041019?
Dear friends: [Using Wine 20041019, the one recommended by WineTools 2.1.2] Using WineTools, I succeeded in installing ALL of the Windows files including IE 6, WMP 6.4, the MS core fonts, etc. etc. and all of the other system files. However, I have repeatedly failed to install MSWord 97 Viewer or Office 97. It's supposed to install but it fails every time. Would be happy just to have
