dovecot 1.0-test69 io hangs
I've been testing test69 with pop3 (under Linux and with mbox). I began testing with a large inbox (11000 mails) and it seems the communication between dovecot and the mailclient (evolution) stalls after 1000-2000 messages transferred. I've looked in to the (non-trivial) io functionality of dovecot. What I see is that io_loop_handler_run() in ioloop-poll.c does not signal any more data

problem with test69
Hi all, I noticed a problem with test69. I can recreate it with the following steps: - create a folder - copy about 200 emails from INBOX to this folder The copy succeeds, I can see with rawlog that it actually moves the 200 emails around. I can see on the spool that there are 200 emails. This is maildir, with spool over NFS. Now I immediately select the new folder. I now see only a part of the

i386 hypervisor seeing only ~16G RAM, amd64 required?
Hi, I have several machines using xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386 from etch-backports and they recently got upgraded to 20 or 24G RAM. I have seen talk of a limit of a 16G RAM with 32bit PAE Xen and indeed this is what I am seeing. I am guessing there is still no way to get the 32bit hypervisor to see more than 16G RAM, and I must go to 64bit. Can I boot a 64bit hypervisor and still keep the same

[LLVMdev] Endianness emulation
Hey folks, If I've got some code that I can compile using clang, that depends on a certain endianness, can I generate bitcode that will have the code operate correctly, even if run on machines of the the opposite endianness? If not, what're we talking about in specific work that'd be needed? Thanks, - Lally

64-bit CentOS 4.2
What exactly is different between the 32 and 64-bit version of CentOS 4.2? The kernel (drivers, file system, etc.) is probably compiled to support 64-bit and probably glibc. What're some important differences between the 32 and 64-bit version? I'm just trying to get a deeper understanding. Thanks in advance for any help. FongVang

Index Corruption xBase database
from smbstatus man page: -B|--byterange causes smbstatus to include byte range locks. the fact is that 4 different connections are opening the same byte range in 'MOVCTA.cdx' That's about all that I can get from your command result dump. Are the shares set to oplocks = no ? That sometimes has a role in database corruption. Thanks for the tip. Is veto oplocks different to oplocks = no? Just now I run into an error, but this time I have this log: ../lib/util/util.c:401(fcntl_lock) fcntl_lock: fcntl lock gave errno 11 (resource temporally unavailable) fcntl_lock: lock failed at offset 2147483646 count 1 op 37 type 1 (resource temporally unavailable) Does this give you any clue of how the problem can be solved? Feature question/request
So I have a bunch of users who are roaming - IE no static IP address from all over the internet. Some of them are able to use SMTP-AUTH which is great, but for those that can't, a pop before smtp solution is in place using relay-ctrl-age & cdb files via qmail. Would it be desirable to have this feature in dovecot? I'd really like to ditch qmail-pop3d, etc. vpopmail has a

Message index corruption when using Thunderbird and Dovecot
Hi all, I have recently upgraded from UW-IMAP to Dovecot 1.0.beta3 on Redhat9. I migrated my mailbox to from Mbox to Maildir using the mb2md perl script, and created a procmail recipe file to get email arriving in the Maildir directories. However, when accessing my mailbox from Thunderbird (version 1.5), it occasionally mixes up the email header with the email content. I also occasionally

Solved problem with index corruption (new mail not seen)
Having had many problems in the past with IDLE not working, new messages not being seen from Thunderbird, and sometimes garbage seen as part of mailboxes, I eventually added some workaround/sanity check patch to the imap_sync_deinit code to reread the offsets from the index and that solved the problem. Now with beta7 (I've previously used beta2), this seems not to be necessary anymore. I

Index corruption with 2.2.12 when moving a message
Just bumped into this today, when I upgraded to a testing package in Fedora: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2014-2672/dovecot-2.2.12-1.fc20 For details, see this bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1066709 Haven't seen this kind of thing before. Sure, it worked the second time I tried to move the message to another folder (I'm guessing index got rebuilt or
