Hey all Would anyone know how you use SNMP to detect that a Cisco router is using an alternative (redundant) interface and then change the routing settings on your firewall. Kind Regards Brent Clark

Making a SIP call
If someone could point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it. Here is my problem: My directions for my sip phone says to dial an ip address 12*34*65*78#. When I dial that into my phone my asterisk server is only picking up some of the numbers in the above example it would pick up 6578. Then of course not find it and ring busy on the phone. The same is true for dialing a regular

Wine and Windows 2000
I had the latest wine running under winblows 98 SE for a week or two with no problems, then I installed winblows 2000 and now I cannot get wine to work. It is important for me to get it running again since I run United Devices cancer research agent (http://members.ud.com) 24/7 to help them find a cure for cancer. Is wine compatible with Win2k, or will I need to re-install 98 again? -- Interested

Email access via Android device
I'm pretty sure that this is possible, but I don't currently know enough about email to know where to start. My main desktop computer runs Centos 6 and my preferred email client is Sylpheed, which supports both POP and IMAP email, and my "internal network" has a static IP address, so getting access to the computer from the big scary world via my phone isn't a problem. immediate delete of mails
Hello all! I've got a home server running on an ARM Cortex-A7 with my custom Linux distribution. It's also responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mails. The SMTP server is OpenSMTPD-6.0.3p1. I'm using Dovecot-2.3.2.1 to export the mails (mailbox storage format) using IMAP. My old server used to have Dovecot-1.2.0 and honestly, it was absolutely sufficient for me. However,

Postfix issue but I want to fix it here...
Hello, Dovecot bunch and Timo. I am using Sylpheed as my Dovecot/IMAP client. At home behind my LAN Sylpheed can send email because the Postfix SMTPd views my LAN as a trusted network. No such luck when I'm away from home. I know it has something to do with configuring the relay access elements but what I have tried so far does not work. I'm sure someone has had this simple issue

client cannot list subfolders
Hi, I'm having a problem with the Sylpheed mail client and dovcot 1.0.rc15. Sylpheed does not like how dovecot is returning LIST output so it cannot see subfolders. Note: Sylpheed 2.4 actually works with the same server so apparently something in a newer version of Sylpheed has changed. This is some dialog with the Sylpheed mailing list: > > Apparently it sees them but they're

problem with COPY?
hi all, I've been trying to use dovecot (from cvs 03.mar.2003, linux 2.2.20, gcc 2.96, openssl 0.9.7a) as an replacement for uw-imap, and it seems to be doing its job, except for one thing: I have my mua (sylpheed-claws from cvs) set up so that it will sort message into certain(imap) directories. so when I check the mail in the INBOX, new mails will be processed automatically and, for

dovecot.procontrol.fi anonymous access fails?
Hi, just started using dovecot on FreeBSD. Nice and easy to configure :-) I then wanted to browse the dovecot mailing list, so, according to http://dovecot.procontrol.fi/mailinglists.html: IMAP archives available from dovecot.procontrol.fi, either use ANONYMOUS authentication or give anonymous as username and empty password. I was using a patched sylpheed that doesn't support

Get Me Outta Here! Web site security issue
Hi All, I have a CentOS 5.4 web server. I have some stuff that runs on 443. When I hit https://<the site> The user gets a warning saying that site identity could not be verified and the user can add an exception if they want. How do I stop this from happing? Do I need to buy an SSL cert? Aren't these really expensive per server and I have 5 servers I would need to do this too. Can

Too stupid for sieve (former maildrop user)
Hello, I just migrated from Postfix/Courier/Maildrop to Postfix/Dovecot/Deliver/Sieve and don't unterstand the right syntax for sieve :( I searched and found many small examples and many links to the RFC, but nothing was usefull for me (or i didn't unterstand it) I installed the latest Dovecot-Sieve (hg). cross-platform email client
I'm a Thunderbird user almost since day one, but now I'm looking for something else. For whatever reason, it doesn't work well for me - every once in a while it becomes non-responsive (UI completely frozen for several seconds, CPU usage goes to 100%) and I just can't afford to waste time waiting for the email software to start working again. My main desktop platform is Linux,
