Blank lines in mailboxes
Hello, we use dovecot on a regular basis. Sometimes I end up with a user telling me he does not get mail. When I look after the problem, I always find leading blank lines in the mbox file. We are using postfix with dovecot and amavisd as spam scanner. Amavisd never accesses the mbox files directly so this can be ruled out. I suspected procmail but now it happened also with accounts where no

Extracting sentences with combinations of target words/terms from cancer patient text medical records
Hi Robert, Thank you for your reply. An attempt to solve this via a regular expression query is particularly helpful. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to play around with this just now. Ultimately though, I think I would like to implement a solution something along the lines of what you have done. I have a book on regular expressions that I am now starting to read. In the meantime, the

At the moment, I'm trying to extract sentences that contain the word "breast" plus either "metastatic" or "stage IV". It's been some

Re: “doveadm mailbox” command fails with UTF-8 mailboxes

Even if relative paths would appear to work, they might just as well break some day. Yet, all examples in the documentation use ~ which is a relative path.

Extracting sentences with combinations of target words/terms from cancer patient text medical records
Hi Paul, Sounds like you have your answer, but for fun I thought I'd try solving your problem using only a regular expression query and base R. I believe this works: > txt <- "Patient had stage IV breast cancer. Nothing matches this sentence. Metastatic and breast match this sentence. French bike champion takes stage IV victory in Tour de France." > pattern <-

Extracting sentences with combinations of target words/terms from cancer patient text medical records
Have you looked at the CRAN Natural Language Processing Task View? If not, why not? If so, why were the resources described there inadequate? Extracting sentences with combinations of target words/terms from cancer patient text medical records
Hi Bert, Thanks for your reply. It appears that I didn't replace the variable name "sampletxt" with the argument "x" in my function. I've corrected that and now my code seems to be working fine. Hello, we have a centos 6 server running dovecot 2.0 provided with the OS, currently 2.0.9. We would like to upgrade to the 2.2.19 package provided by the mailserver.guru repo. I read the upgrading docs for 2.1 and 2.2 and found the following issues: 2.0 - 2.1: - define namespace inbox or delete 15-mailboxes.conf (we do not "care about special use mailboxes") - plugins and UTF-8: we

A problem ist that when the ssh connection is closed by a network interruption or by closing the window with the ssh client, we do not find a corresponding entry in the logs. Sentiment analysis in R
Hi All, I am trying to perform sentiment analysis using R with the help of the library(sentiment). I am using the function classify_emotions(sentiment). It is basically selecting a particular word from a sentence and with the help of the pr-defined score of that particular word, it is giving the sentiment score of the whole sentence. How to beat Google aka Xapian & Natural Language Processing.
Xapians! If tomorrow Xapian search engine would achieved the same performance and result in searches as Google we would not be able to beat Google, because we would create only a copy of the searches that already exists from Google search engine. However there is a way to beat anyone, and there is a way to beat Google successfully as well just do not give up. Some see it as implementing Ajax, or

Trouble with Functions
Hi guys, I'm a new to R and following along with Tutorials using this book: http://www.amazon.com/Practical-Statistical-Analysis-Non-structured-Applications/dp/012386979X In one of them, they use the twitteR package and describe the following function (see below). From what I can tell from the documentation (R), there's a method to call it directly in an interactive session. The way
