pop3 messages not deleted
Hello,
I'm currently experiencing, that 0 messages are shown at the pop3-prompt:
list
+OK 0 messages:

But the cur-folder containes 74 files. How can this happen? Why aren't
they removed physically?

nfs and pop3
Hi,
I'm working with dovecot 1.0.beta2 for pop3 only and have set
index=memory, so no indizes are created on the disk. pop3_uidl_format is
set to %f. The maildirs are located on an nfs-share.
So generally, this setup is very similar to what qmail-popup and
qmail-pop3d does. However, everytime I'm switching from qmail-pop3d to
dovecot, the system load increases from less than 2 to more

pop3 retr error
Hello,
I'm getting the following error while Mozilla Mail is downloading >4000
emails:
The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving message. Mail server
xxx responded: Message is deleted.
So what's the error? Can't I retrieve a message, that has been marked as
deleted before? If the Mesage-ID wouldn't exist, the error message would
be different. I don't know

new-attrib lost when calling through pop3
Hi,
I noticed, that all messages are moved from new/ to cur/ (using
maildirs) after the authentication in pop3, even before the list
command. I'm working with 1.0-stable-20050426. Why is this done?
Shouldn't a message keep it's new-attrib as long as it isn't retrieved?
This is how it worked with qmail-pop3d. Through imap, it works
correctly. It's just sad if I can't

combining matrices
Heja,
I hope someone is still there to help me:
How can I somehow merge/combine matrices to get such a result:
Matrix A
A B
x1 1 0
x2 1 1
Matrix B
C D
x3 1 0
x4 0 1
Resulting Matrix?
A B C D
x1 1 0 0 0
x2 1 1 0 0
x3 0 0 1 0
x4 0 0 0 1
Does anyone see this probably obvious solution with R how to do this?
Sorry if this question is silly...it's too hot here to think properly ;O)

stack or dissolve matrix without double entries
Heja,
I've some bigger distance-matrices like this:

- attr(*, "dimnames")=List of 2
..$ : chr [1:3231] "A" "B" "C" "D" ...
..$ : chr [1:3231] A" "B" "C" "D" .
I actually want to convert them into a 2 column dataframe like this:

Query: weighting cells in histogram
I have the 'breaks' for the histogram ('hist') but I want weight the cells instead of using actual observations. I thought that using freq=FALSE implied that the numbers in 'x' were weights but this turned out to be wrong.
Any help and/or comment is very much appreciated.

NFS
I've finally managed to run Dovecot without errors in two computers with
maildir and indexes stored in NFS. I added a page to wiki about this:
http://wiki.dovecot.org/NFS
Suggestions how to keep attribute cache enabled but to allow Dovecot to
specifically request not to use a cached value (when it's important)
would be welcome.

ftp:// error
Hello,
from a server where neither a rsync daemon nor ssh is running I'm trying
to backup the whole data with ftp. So my idea was to call rsync like this:
rsync -v -a 'ftp://1.2.3.4/' my_folder
But this gives me:
ftp: unknown host
ftp: unknown host
ftp: Unknown host
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes read so far)

dovecot died
Hello,
today our dovecot imap server died. The following message appeared in
the logfile:
dovecot: Mar 23 07:00:58 Error: pipe() failed: Too many open files
We have one dovecot instance for pop3 and one for imap, so while the
pop3-service was still available, the imap-service was not running any more.
I've seen a lots of users keeping there imap-connections idle for hours,
often more

NoSQL Storage Backend
Hello,
I found a posting on the mailing list from 2008 "Adding new storage
backend to Dovecot" while searching for POP3 and IMAP servers, that
allow to use a NoSQL backend rather than a traditional file system.
The problem with traditional filesystems is, that they are very limited.
You cannot easily extend it, even with RAID 10 all messages may be lost
due to a RAID controller

dispatch.cgi not found error
I''m following along on the 10 minute tutorial. Accessing blog at
http://www.ampede.com/blog/ works fine. I then created Weblog using the
script/new_controller generator. When I try to access
http://www.ampede.com/blog/weblog/, I get:

Ignoring certain files?
Hey guys,
Is there any way I can get rspec to ignore all files in spec/fixtures when
it does a recursive search for all spec/**/*_spec.rb files?
The problem I''m facing is that the fixtures for my code are project
structures on disk, so I thought I''d make a spec/fixtures with a bunch of
different project structures. That works, except obviously those can contain

Samba & Alternate Data Streams
Greetings,
I'm developing a FUSE-based file system which will be exported to the
Windows-world via Samba. My file system is emulating NTFS Alternate Data
Streams by creating the content of those files "on the fly" on access.
This works quite well with Samba 3.4.6 and the ":Zone.Identifier"
stream. But the Windows clients don't even try to access the

feature request: login in process title
Hello,
I'm a bit afraid of users, the might slow down the server because of
search requests to the imap-server on very large mailboxes. Even with a
performant index, this could cause a lot of cpu and i/o-load. Is it
possible to include the login-name in the imap process, so that a "ps
ax" doesn't just give "imap", but e.g. "imap test at example.com"?

multiple architectures are installed:
