How to understand packages, namespaces, environments
I would be very glad of pointers to information on how the concepts of packages, namespaces and environments are interrelated in R. I am trying to get a handle on this both so I can delve further into understanding other people's code and so I can organize my own in a more coherent manner. From my reading about environments it seems they function as what I would intuitively call

[PATCH]vtd, one more fix about PMR disable
One more fix about PMR disable. Move PMR disable into per-iommu enable function, instead of in current iommu_setup which only takes effect on first VT-d engine. This change also enlightens S3 resume path. Broken system.
Hello, I had an Inbox with 975,604 emails on ext3 filesystem. I keept getting dropped on the comand "copy 1:2000 inbox2", the syslog gave me an error message indicating "out of memory" problems. This despite the fact that the server has 800MB of ram free. Anyways, I asked if I could manuanlly move the files at the filesystem level or if that would mess up dovecot (break the

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc and -march
The -arch option is handled by Apple's "driver-driver", and the MacPorts build is probably not using that. See the driverdriver.c source file in llvm-gcc for details. Also, the driver-driver should be in the sources that they're using even still.

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc and -march
So my original post subject was for -march, but that was my mistake. The command line option is -arch. Since presumably Macports is just fetching an llvm tar ball from some repository, is the issue that llvm has been misconfigure in some obvious way? Yes, I can take a look at the driverdriver.c source file as well. Should this also be working in LLVM 2.9 or is the latest SVN also needed? On

SYSLINUX 2.07 released
After all the bug fixes over the last few weeks I thought it was high time to release 2.07. It certainly doesn't fix everything, but it fixes several important problems people have reported. Changes in 2.07: * MEMDISK: Workaround for BIOSes which go into a snit when they get a RESET command for the floppy system when there is no floppy in the system.

Cucumber and fixtures/FixtureReplacement
Hey guys, I''d never used RSpec Stories before, so I decided to follow the apparent direction of the wind and just jump right into cucumber. I''m dabbling with/using Cucumber and really like it. Good job, aslak! Where i''m struggling right now is using either fixtures or a model factory methodology like the FixtureReplacement. In both cases, I''m not

Certificate nightmares
I think I really hosed my certificates somehow this morning trying to get PuppetDB and Puppet talking again -- here''s where I stand. My Puppet master and PuppetDB are again talking, or at least, aren''t complaining about communication. From my puppet master, I can run "puppet agent -t", and it runs just fine. From any other node on which puppet had been running, I

ssh 4.x using aix 5.3 auditing
Im trying to identify how ssh 4.5 interacts with the audit subsystem within AIX 5.3. i get an event when a user logs in, but not when they exit via ssh. i can get it to work with telnet, however. It would seem to me that if an event is captured from the login, that the same would be true for the logout. I've opened a PMR w/IBM, but not getting very much help. below is an example of my

Fitting a choice model (Bradley-Terry generalization)
I have some data I would like to model which involves choice of food by dung beetles. There are a number of experiments where in each case, there are five choices. Overall there are more than 5 different foods being compared (including a placebo) and different experiments use different comparisons. The problem is a generalization of Bradley-Terry but it differs from some generalizations in

Managing IMAP IDLE/Push with Sieve – possible?
Hello, I've been using Dovecot with Sieve for a long time already, and I'm very happy with it. Push is working fine too. I was wondering, however, whether it would be possible to define a Sieve rule (perhaps using some plug-in), such that an IMAP push message gets sent out only for specific senders etc.? Have you come across anything like that? Thanks a lot, F.F.

Received Date vs Date Header
I am trying to figure out why my mail clients are not correctly showing me the received date versus the date header date. I am using Dovecot 1.1B9. Here is a copy of the rawlog from Dovecot when I started up the client. Is Dovecot supposed to be sending the received date and the date header during this conversation? * OK [RAWLOG TIMESTAMP] 2007-11-30 16:48:31 * NAMESPACE ((""

Sending things to Jabber but not within an extension
I have set my Asterisk server up to connect to my Jabber server and send messages with the caller ID details in them to the recipients of incoming calls - this is working very nicely. There are a few other things I can think of right now that I would like to send to Jabber but as yet I do not know whether they are possible. They are: (a) a count of messages in a voicemail box - triggered

Samba 3.0.0beta1 box drops out of ADS network periodically.
Hi guys, first let me say, great work on Samba 3.0. I've been using the beta, and even the pre-betas in some semi production environments for a few months now without any problems. Upon putting Samba 3.0 on a fresh RedHat 9.0 machine, I am having some difficulties. I joined the machine to the local Win2k managed domain with 'net ADS join', and all was good for a while. Everybody could

System: AIX 5.2 ML-07, Samba 3.0.21a & 3.0.21b, Workstations: Win XP Pro SP2. (OpenLDAP 2.3.11, BDB 4.3) Users are in LDAP pdb. Stand alone DC, no winbindd. This system was upgraded from 3.0.20 to 3.0.21a (and later 3.0.21b). I'm looking for a scenario where under heavy load there could be locking contention within Samba Under heavy load, context switches go through the roof and we get

Crypto API and Shorewall
A number of you are flailing around trying to get the subject combination to work. You should all be aware that there are parts of this that don''t currently work and that won''t work well until there are enhancements made to Shorewall (and probably to Netfilter). I. There is no clean way currently to support Road Warriors from a Masquerading Netfilter firewall/gateway. As
