mail-cache-transaction.c error
Hello all. I've just recently (this last weekend) migrated to Dovecot on my FreeBSD 4.x box. So far, so good, I like it a lot, and plan on moving mboxes to Maildirs sometime this next weekend. BUT....I've currently run into a problem. I'm seeing an error when one user account tries to access the INBOX from Squirrelmail: Mar 6 16:50:59 cerebus dovecot: IMAP(problemuser): file

pop before smtp
I'm using the latest version of dovecot on my FreeBSD 4.x box with OpenPKG to keep other services up to date. Now...I'm able to get pbsmtp to allow relaying through postfix on this server using UW IMAP, but I would like to get dovecot working with relaying...but pbsmtp is not adding the ip when I uncomment the dovecot section after I authenticate. The log is below: [root at

Testing null values: ast_yyerror(): syntax error
OK, I'm going nuts here trying to correctly identify null values, specifically when callerID info is not available. FYI, I'm running Asterisk CVS-HEAD-08/17/04-13:08:53, and Bison 1.875a (debian Sid). A snippit of my dialplan looks like this: exten => s,1,SetCIDNum(${CALLERIDNUM}) exten => s,2,NoOp,${CALLERID} exten => s,3,DBGet(temp=idiot/${CALLERIDNUM}) ; Is the person calling

how to escape #
Hi, This morning I found myself stumped when a remote interactive system asked me to enter some identification followed by the # key, and my local Asterisk interrupted with "Transfer?". Is there a way to escape the pound key, short of disabling transfers? Cheers, -- "Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot."

APC Smart-ups "status codes" (slightly OT)
We got replacement battery "kits" for some of our APC UPS' (Smart-UPS, rackmount). I put them into one tray (it's for an RBC 43, which takes 8, and weighs a ton), and put it in, and let it charge. Idiot "change battery" led stays on. So I hit the test button, it discharges very rapidly (a good number of servers on this), and the led stays on. For some reason,

NOTICE: [CERT Advisory CA-2003-21 GNU Project FTP Server Compromise]
Hi All As many may have noticed the GNU Project's FTP server had been compromised as outlined in this CERT advisory[1]. I felt the urge to quickly hack together a small perl script to check my distfiles against the published md5 sums from FSF. Using this file as reference: ftp://ftp.gnu.org/before-2003-08-01.md5sums.asc (Check and Verify the PGP signature ![1]) [1] Full CERT advisory :

OK, that's a pretty good kill pattern.

Ok, Im an idiot. Can't remount the ext3 filesystem because I deleted the /.jounral file...
Hello everyone, Ok, I admit it - I'm an idiot. But it seemed the right thing to do at the time.... I'm running RH 6.2 with a 2.2.19ext3 (ext3 0.0.7). I wanted to try out the new 2.4 kernel line, so I upgraded modutils, gcc and few other things.. Compiled the kernel (did NOT patch it to ext3) and installed it and rebooted. Well, it didn't understand ext3 fs.. Ok... Boot back into

Is 6.4 out?
My manager was just asking me if it's out - he's just gotten a large number of updates on one of our systems, just now. Please note this is NOT INTENDED TO START ANOTHER IDIOT FLAMEWAR; I'm just asking for a clarification, given that I don't see anything on the CentOS site. mark mark

Accidentally removed glibc & glibc-devel :: Help
Hi, I attempted to ugprade glibc & glibc-devel and ended up removing them entirely by accident. *idiot* What are the steps needed to get glibc back onto my system. Absolutely nothing is working at the moment, rpm, yum, etc. I presume I'm going to have to boot from a rescue CD of some kind. If someone could outline how to do this, or point me to some docs I would be most grateful.

HVM - BIOS serial console redirection?
I realized this is probably better suited for the devel list.. basically, is there any way in the BOCHS bios to enable ''Serial Console Redirection'', where you see the BIOS contents over the serial line? Windows 2003''s ''Emergency Management Services'' console (which allows you to do installs and fix stuff over the serial line) requires this to

Function not working
Below is the (really basic) script I am creating to call a function that sets the working directory, determines the number of files it will need to process in that directory, and creates a mask. A "for" loop will eventually be added that will loop through the files (arrays) in that directory performing a baseline/zero correction and apply the mask - that will probably be a later plea

OT: Headset for Cisco 7960?
Sorry, I know it's OT, but does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive headset that is compatible with the Cisco 7960? I've tried the headset off Norstar phones, doesn't seem to work with or without the amp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson | natecars@natecarlson.com | http://www.natecarlson.com | | depriving some poor

GXP-2000 and Configdownload via TFTP
Hi, i got my Grandstream GXP-2000 phone today and want to configure it with TFTP. I downloaded the firmware 1.1.0.13 and put it into my tftp-server directory. Then I downloaded the template from: http://www.grandstream.com/DOWNLOAD/Configuration_Tool/Linux_Unix/Grandstream_Configuration_File_Template_1.0.6.x.txt renamed it to cfg<mac-address> Did the configuration in the new file and

merb speed
Hi, We have a rails app which is essentially a web UI to a unix filesystem, and which has been performing rather slowly. I''ve been looking at rewriting it in merb, so I did a quick spike where I ported over all the rails code necessary to log in as a user, and generate the same file list page that rails was serving up. However, the numbers appear quite bad (twice as slow as rails, for a

argument constraints docs on www site
Hi Thought I had found an actual issue here but turned out it was me being an idiot. In the process though, I noticed that the rspec page docs say you should use ":anything" rather than "anything()", although it is deprecated. Any reason for that or does it just need updating?
