Problem updating ddclient
when I ran "sudo yum update" on my CentOS-7.2.1511 today, ddclient was updated to ddclient-3.8.3-1.el7.noarch (from 3.7.3), and ddclient.conf was moved to ddclient.conf.rpmsave . When I move it back, "sudo systemctl restart ddclient" fails with the error (in "sudo journalctl -xe | grep ddclient") Apr 21 13:05:39 alfred.gayleard.eu.localdomain touch[8590]:

ignore pattern for ddclient
Hi all, I use logcheck and ddclient, and I think that it would be usefull to add an ignore pattern for ddclient: ^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ ddclient[[0-9]+]: SUCCESS: updating [._[:alnum:]-]+: good: IP address set to [.#[:digit:]]+ The original messages are like this: Jan 18 10:26:40 casaserv ddclient[4397]: SUCCESS: updating myserver.mine.nu: good: IP address set to 12.345.67.89

Strange Postfix problem
Hello, Was trying to setup postfix on my home PC. Running Centos 6.4. I don't have a static IP and use zoneedit and ddclient to keep my installation of zoneminder current. So I decided I wanted to get zoneminder to send me email alerts. Sent some test messages but none were sent. I went to webdnstools website thinking maybe there is a dns or network problem. When it checks my dns setup,

RE: Converting to 1.1.4, help please!
Hey Jud, Thanks! I copied two of my FLAC folders (CDs) into a temp dir just to test it out and see if I could get it to run. I put the four unzipped files into the dir folder and opened a cmd window using the same options you suggested: "reflac -r -8 -nw -nb" It looks as though it first converts the files to WAV then re-encode them into FLAC 1.1.4 then deletes the WAV, correct? quick and easy way to convert id3-tagged flac to flac-tagged flac?
Jud, why would you write this in .NET and limit its portability? flac runs on Unix and Mac OS X, so if you were to write in C/C++ then your tool would be available to everyone who can run flac. Re: Converting to 1.1.4, help please!
"reflac" seems like a decent script for being absolutely certain about the conversion, but I can't help but think that it would run 5 times faster without the "flac -t" and also using a single flac re- encode without the intermediate WAV file. I haven't done this before, so I have no idea whether the metadata blocks would be preserved more easily without the

Asterisk on Dynamic IP to a SIP extension
Verizon has put another good third party DSL supplier out of the DSL business. Their mindset is to kill the competition and then kill DSL and copper althogether in FIOS areas. So am soon losing my static IP and I need to prepare for the change. I currently have Asterisk running using, besides local extensions, a remote SIP extension in another state. In the new configuration both Asterisk and

running jail with alternate IP
I am currently setting up a firewall that translates my internal network over to 5 public IP addresses. The addresses are dynamically assigned, so I use ddclient to update my www.dyndns.org account. I've set up several aliases on the external interface of the firewall, and succeeded in having the internal computers use those extra public IPs. What I want to do is have 5 copies of ddclient

Networking setup/help
I had to install 5.5 from scratch and now I have to rebuild my home networking system. I haven't had to mess with this stuff in over 5+ years and I'm sure there may be better ways of doing it now. My liunx box acts as firewall/gateway for 2 other pcs. I was using a script from the Linux IP Masquerade HOWTO with ddclient (since I have a dynamic ip). Also, I don't think I need a full

Rejecting valid mail (including this mailing list)
Recently, I added the below line to my sendmail.mc and rebuilt. Everything was working just fine until sometime today. In looking over the maillog, it seems if almost every piece of mail was rejected because of this configuration - mail that I know is OK, valid, and not a source of spam, like tamu.edu. Not only that, but the mailing list from centos was being rejected as well. Anyone know

A problem with power outages
I have a CentOS-6.2 server in Italy. Every few months the server gets into a strange state and stops working after a power outage. I should say that this does not occur after every power outage; I suspect, but have no real evidence for this, that if the power comes back too quickly then the machine gets confused because it is in the middle of closing down. If I am in Italy the solution is simple;

FLAC: library for C#
I tried that approach a while ago and failed miserably. Marshalling the structs of structs in the flac lib turned out to be a nightmare (I don't pretend to be an expert, mind you...). I eventually switched to writing my own C# lib from scratch. Work is still under progress. It's no rocket science, I do this a G-job. It has definite limitations (no documentation, decodes only 16-bit files,
