unwanted conversion of date formats in 2.3.1 to character
good morning I'm using R 2.2.1 on windows (2000/NT/XP) and trying to upgrade to 2.3.1 I am finding the curious problem of date/time data (both if stocked as date and as POSIX) that gets converted into character format whenever touched: it seems that date/time data just does not want to remain that way. For example, a data.frame containing dates or POSIXct as row.names that is returned as

chan_sip errors on CVS HEAD
I've got a test * server (hppbx) where I install CVS-HEAD as often as possible, with my extension registered to this, talking through IAX to our production server which then channels out to the PSTN. After completing a call just now, the following appeared on the CLI of hppbx (the 90xxxxxxxxxxx is a valid number, changed to protect the guilty): == Spawn extension (from-sip,

Using napredict in prcomp
Hello all, I wish to compute site scores using PCA (prcomp) on a matrix with missing values, for example: Drain Slope OrgL a 4 1 NA b 2.5 39 6 c 6 8 45 d 3 9 12 e 3 16 4 ... Where a,b... are sites. The command > pca<-prcomp(~ Drain + Slope + OrgL, data = t, center = TRUE, scale = TRUE, na.action=na.exclude) works great, and from

problems with 1.6
In an attempt to fix problems with EAGI delays in 1.4 (see my other message for more on that), I've tried upgrading to 1.6, in case it's a bug that's fixed in the newer version. Unfortunately, I'm having all kinds of trouble with this new install. My system relies on conferences, and whenever I add any channel to it (adding a SIP connection, playing an audio file, activating

nnet Multinom output of ordered predictors
Hello, I apologize if this seems like an obvious question, but I have been looking everywhere and have yet to find an answer. I am doing a multinomial regression with multinom() in the nnet package. I have a 3 level ordered response (ordered()) variable and 4 predictors, 3 of which are numerical and one which is an ordered factor (also ordered()) with 5 levels (a, b, c, d, e). My question is in

Aggregate rows to see the number of occurences
Hi, I have a set of data like the following: [,1] [,2] [1,] 10 2 [2,] 7 0 [3,] 1 0 [4,] 1 0 [5,] 15 0 [6,] 17 4 [7,] 4 0 [8,] 19 8 [9,] 10 2 [10,] 19 5 I'd like to aggregate it in order to obtain the frequency (the number of occurences) for each couple of values (e.g.: (10,2) appears twice, (7,0) appears once). Something cool

blank pdf output when called in a loop
Hi, I'm hitting a strange problem where pdf plots that I'm trying to make are blank, only when produced from within a loop. The pdf contains 0 page. I've narrowed the problem to this minimal script that invariably produces an empty pdf with my setup: pdf("/local/scratch/1.pdf", width=8, height=8) for (k in 1) { wireframe(volcano) } dev.off() The odd thing is that

Only iterating over the middle content_columns?
Standard behavior for the list action is to use content_columns to get all the fields of a model and then do something with them. I''d like to ignore some of them and iteratre over the rest. For instance I may have A B C D ... X Y Z and I''d like to do something special with A and B and then Y and Z, but in the middle I''d definitely like a loop to say

msiexec --help output in the middle of wine install log
I've installed an application from the command line with: wine 'F:\Setup.exe' 2>&1 | tee wine.log In the log, somewhere towards the end of the install, appears the same output as you get with the command line: msiexec --help which suggests to me that my application's installer or Wine has messed up an invocation of msiexec and as a consequence the installation may be
