0.99.9 released
As promised yesterday :)
BTW. I just found libsqlora8 library yesterday and I've been playing
with Oracle mail storage support. Shouldn't take too long to get it
working.
And the NEWS file once more:

Bug in 0.99.14 mbox handling - mail UIDs are renumbered without bumping UIDVALIDITY
Package: dovecot-imapd
Version: 0.99.14-1
Severity: important
Hi,
I think I've identified a bug in Dovecot 0.99.14 as packaged and
distributed by Debian Sarge. I believe the bug lies in the original
Dovecot source, not with any modifications made by Debian.
Specifically, this bug deals with Dovecot's handling of message unique
identifiers (UIDs) for IMAP clients when using the mbox

Users with large (4GB) inboxes crippling dovecot
Hi all,
I'm new here and would very much appreciate any help you can give me.
We are running a rather outdated mail server that until recently has been
running beautifully. Under the pretense of "it is ain't broke, don't fix
it" it hasn't been updated so is running Fedora Core 4 and dovecot v0.99.14.
What is happening is that as users log in (via thunderbird), they

I should have released 0.99.14 already, but I've been way too busy
lately. Among other things I started working half-time at Movial
(www.movial.fi). I had forgotten 8 hour work days at office could take
so much time :)
Anyway.. There has been a few changes since RC1 so I'll still make RC2
before the final. Changes since RC1:

Shared mailboxes and accessing MailDir not through IMAP
Hello,
I'm testing Dovecot that is part of Debian/sarge (v0.99.14-1).
So far so good. I have migrated some mailboxes for testing with success
and seems that everything works fine.
One thing I do not figure out is, what to do about shared mailboxes, which
are the very reason of searching for an alternative IMAP server,
The Wiki states that there is some sort of shared mailboxes, based upon

0.99.9 release candidate 1
0.99.9 should really be released soon. There's been quite a lot of
important fixes since 0.99.8.1.
There's still some recent counter strangeness, but it wasn't perfect
before either.
mbox still doesn't necessarily notice flag changes unless they're
written into index file (ie. non-Dovecots and Dovecot without index
files). But it wasn't perfect before either.

Solr -> Xapian ?
Ok.
Additional question :
- for rescan : who is responsible for passing again the new email ? Is
the Dovecot core sending again all the emails to index ? or the fts
shall somehow access the mailbox and read all emails ? Wouldn't just be
saying "delete all index and get_last_uid is now 0" the easy way ? or
the fts must process all emails (and block the current thread as a

Solr -> Xapian ?
I managed to deal with the namespace issue (updated makefile.am)
However, I reach :

dovecot Digest, Vol 67, Issue 19
Thanks Buddy,
I got it working. It was giving error when running make 'undefined
reference to `request_init' etc' then I ran it with gmake LDFLAGS+=-lwrap
and it worked and everything is working fine. Thanks again for your help

Solr -> Xapian ?
There is no point into a separate plugin, the purpose is to replace
squat as the default fts (solr being a nightmare)

Virtual mailbox plans
Configuration
-------------
There could be global and user-specific configuration files, similar to
how ACLs work. I think the global virtual mailboxes should be only
defaults though, so that users could delete them and create a new
mailbox (virtual or non-virtual) with the same name.
The global virtual mailboxes could be described in a single file, such
as:
Trash
