If I setup a user entry on /etc/passwd file all works ok, user can logon on GDM and password is verifiyed via kerberos. But If I use LDAP to retrieve user information, GDM doesn't works. On the other side, I can login on console using ldap for

Hello Rowland, Louis and Min, sorry for late reply, I was really busy in the past days. As Min already wrote, I have made the same experience unfortunately. With Rowland's suggested settings it didn't solve the problem. I'm on another issue at the moment and didn't find time to check the rsync/unison process on my own, but I'll promise I'll dive into it as soon as I can.

Replace call stack with an equivalent on the heap?
Hello, I'm implementing a custom Haskell-to-LLVM compiler, and in my experimentation, noticed that GHC is much slower than clang certain examples, such as the ackermann function. However, from reading their respective IRs (Cmm for GHC and LLVM for clang), I don't really see much of a difference. Here is a link to the numbers. (n, m) are the parameters to the ackermann function

Does text_field go directly to attributes hash in AR object?
All, I''m having a hell of a time figuring out what is going on here. I''m trying to override one of my getters so that I can format it a certain way in my form. But I can''t seem to get text_field to call the appropriate method on my object. So here''s my getter: public def FAX fax = read_attribute(:FAX) puts fax

Any tools for working with US 2000 census data?
I've been given the job of extracting some data from the United States 2000 census (files at http://www2.census.gov/census_2000/datasets/Summary_File_2/Maryland/all_ Maryland.zip 52M). I'm only interested in Census Block Groups (CBGs) located within Baltimore City, Maryland. Additionally, I just have to extract certain data fields. I think I'll be using Summary File 2. This is my first

2d wavelet transforms
I've been reading up on wavelet transforms the past week, and I plan to start on some video compression stuff next week, if it's any good (small chance :)) for Tarkin. So far I think I know what's happening, however there's one small thing I don't quite understand yet. If I understand correctly, you can do a 2d wavelet transform (I'm assuming a Haar transform here for

llvm-mc-assemble-fuzzer broken
Thank you. I went ahead with a speculative fix in r331568. I'm not familiar _at all_ with the tool, so, although the fix was straightforward, another pair of eyes from somebody familiar with the tool would be appreciated.
