Squirrelmail - messages not marked as read
As of test-60 and test-61, running Squirrelmail 1.5.1[cvs] on FreeBSD 5.3-STABLE, messages are not marked as read after they are read. If I switch back to test-59, it works normally. When switching back to test-59, with log_path = /var/log/dovelog dovelog shows: dovecot: Jan 14 11:43:38 Error: IMAP(kimc): Corrupted index cache file /home/kimc/Maildir/dovecot.index.cache: indexid changed

1.0-test51
http://dovecot.org/test/ This release is built with autoconf 2.59 and libtool 1.9. We'll see how it works out :) The required changes were done by Matthias Andree. - The last fix for connection hanging made IDLE use 100% CPU - We don't use Maildir/.INBOX/ directory anymore, indexes are stored in Maildir-root - Don't crash with FETCH BODY[n.MIME] - Changed %p (protocol)

assertion failed and debugging dovecot
I'm getting this error on a particular message in my Maildir: Oct 11 21:59:48 aurora dovecot: IMAP(doug): file ostream-file.c: line 646 (_send_istream): assertion failed: (instream->v_offset <= in_size) To me, more import than the question "why is this happening" is "how can I debug this?" Attaching gdb to the running imap process doesn't give me access

dovecot: Jan 14 12:25:49 Error: IMAP(xxxuser): file istream-limit.c: line 85 (_seek): assertion failed: (v_offset <= lstream->v_size) That error message is generated when squirrelmail 1.4.4-rc1 attempts to access this peculiar message partially quoted below. It doesn't happen (after copying the message to our testing account) accessing it through squirrelmail now. But it did. The

Problems with thunderbird
I'm running dovecot-1.0-test50 on openbsd 3.4 and it's working great, exept with thunderbird. Everything works fine with squirrelmail. The instant i log in with thunderbird the imap process goes up to 100% cpu, and instantly goes back down to 0 when i log out. I configured dovecot with the following arguments: --with-vpopmail --with-storages=maildir --without-passwd

subsets problem
Help with this much appreciated I have a large dataframe that I would like to subset where the constraint Test1 <- subset(df, date == uniques[[1]]), where uniques is a list of dates that must be matched to create Test1. I would like to perform an operation on Test1 that results in a single column of data. So far so good. How do loop through all values in the uniques list (say

Error: child 12625 (imap) killed with signal 12
Hi! I have tried to install dovecot as my imap service on my FreeBSD server. At first all looked fine and worked flawless. But after a while i started to get errors. The imap process dies with signal 12 when the client tries to check the contens of the folder. dovecot: Apr 07 09:55:17 Error: child 12625 (imap) killed with signal 12 Any ideas what may cause this problem? Subscription problem with various clients
Hi, I'm a newbie with dovecot but i managed to install it and it's running great except i have this weird problem when trying to subscribe folders. I can subscribe to one folder at the time (for example inbox + sent), but if i try to subscribe an other directory client (tried with outlook express 6, Mozilla Thunderbird 0.8, Iloha Webmail) automaticly unsubscribes other directories.

restful_authentication plugin + session timeout + single login session?
Hi, I am using restful authentication plugin 1) I was wondering if there is a way to do a session timeout using the restful_authentication. How do I hack it to get the behaviour I need? 2) On top of that, I may need to ensure that a particular user can only login from a single PC. If the user is already logged in at a PC and attempts to login from another PC, the session in which he signs in

test49 "killed with signal 6" errors...
I upgraded yesterday from 1.0test46 to 1.0test49 in an attempt to eliminate an error that a couple of my users were getting. Both users were using Thunderbird 0.6 over imaps, and were getting errors that said: "The current command didn't succeed. The mail server responded: Error in IMAP command UID: Invalid Body [..] Parameter: Missing '>'in'<14336-13057>'.

Windows build with Visual Studio 2005 - some success
Hi all, first up, big thanks to Dave for doing the hard work of porting Lucene. I have come to love Lucene through my Java work and was extremely pleased to find the Ferret project for Ruby. Now, I am tinkering with building the C extension using Visual Studio 2005. So far, I have had some success in getting something built and working in my Rails app (diffs attached). I am also encountering a

Maildir/mbox on a per-user basis
Hello, The Wiki indicates that Dovecot can do either mbox or Maildir on a per-user basis: default_mail_env can be overridden in userdb for each user. This works with userdbs supporting the "mail" attribute (eg. passwd-file, SQL, LDAP). How exactly does one do this for passwd-file? Thanks, -Jon -- Jon Nathan jon at rupture.net
