dovecot 1.1.beta3 crashes on NetBSD/sparc64 4.0_RC3 with Thunderbird 2.0.0.6
Hi all, I'm getting core dumps from Dovecot when using Thunderbird as a client. Everything is fine when using the Apple Mail client. I've appended the debug dumps to this message so they are out of the way, but they should be read now. I think the problem might be that io->prev and io->next aren't reliably initialised in ioloop.c:io_add. The value that io->prev has when

Test51 compile problems
First of all, thanks for a great product. I've been able to get dovecot up and running with minimum pain. Very nice. Running Fedora Core 2 with postfix using mysql for virtual mailbox config. Got release version of dovecot working with a passwd-file, then I wanted to try it out with using the same mysql db as postfix, so I downloaded test51. I run ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc

director stuck in inifite loop on 2.2.35
Occasionally, all of our directors get stuck in an endless loop. Likely triggered by some network event, but I haven't been able to isolate exactly what triggers it, and am unable to reproduce at the moment. When this happens, it makes the dovecot/director process on all directors unresponsive, making login impossible. Restarting dovecot "fixes" it. Here's the info collected

Multiple auth checkers
I noticed this is in the TODO: - support for multiple auth checkers. passdb+userdb should be tied together. auth process configurations really should be used for this.. and is functionality that I really would like, as I have local users (passwd+shadow) and vpopmail users. In -test7's dovecot-example.conf, there is a different format for "blocking" multiple auth types, and I

1.0-test51
http://dovecot.org/test/ This release is built with autoconf 2.59 and libtool 1.9. We'll see how it works out :) The required changes were done by Matthias Andree. - The last fix for connection hanging made IDLE use 100% CPU - We don't use Maildir/.INBOX/ directory anymore, indexes are stored in Maildir-root - Don't crash with FETCH BODY[n.MIME] - Changed %p (protocol)

[PATCH] move highest_fd calculations to ioloop-select.c
Hello, ioloop->highest_fd is used by ioloop-select.c only, so its handling can be moved out of generic ioloop code. Attached patch (agains -test35) does exactly this. Please consider applying. PostgreSQL driver supporting [round-robin] load balancing and redundancy [LONG]
One of the things my employer uses dovecot for is as mail download server for an 'e-mail purification service' (AV/ anti-spam) for smartphones. The service itself presently runs on a rented server somewhere in the UK and the corresponding 'web service' front-end and user account/ mail account database resides on a server in Germany. The UK dovecot server uses the PostgreSQL server

dovecot 1.0.alpha4 hangs at auth
I'm using dovecot 1.0.alpha4 on a freebsd 5.3 i386 system. Dovecot is configured to use mysql authentication and I'm running mysql 5.0.15 . Everything works fine, but after a period of inactivity (20-30 minutes ) when I connect and try to authenticate it just hangs. I noticed that the dovecot-auth worker process is not running anymore... from looking at the source code I understand that
