1.0-test57
http://dovecot.org/test/ Two important fixes: - Fixes the recently reported dovecot-auth crashes with unexpected client input - Fixes mbox corruption in some not-so-common cases. Hopefully this is the last one. I added more asserts anyway which try to catch similiar mistakes and avoid losing data. Others: - Added oe-ns-eoh workaround for pop3. Fixes outlook/netscape problems with buggy

[PATCH] Request for testing: BSD kqueue ioloop handler
Hello, attached patch adds experimental ioloop handler which uses BSD kqueue API. It compiles and survives my small test program, but not thoroughly tested because I have no suitable BSD machine to torture. Brave owners of (Free|Net|Open)BSD please test and report results :) Best regards. -- Andrey Panin | Linux and UNIX system administrator pazke at donpac.ru | PGP key: wwwkeys.pgp.net

Test51 compile problems
First of all, thanks for a great product. I've been able to get dovecot up and running with minimum pain. Very nice. Running Fedora Core 2 with postfix using mysql for virtual mailbox config. Got release version of dovecot working with a passwd-file, then I wanted to try it out with using the same mysql db as postfix, so I downloaded test51. I run ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc

Problem with folder not showing content
Hi, I'm having some problems with one of my IMAP folders in thunderbird. When creating a new account in thunderbird and importing from my dovecot test51 installation, using maildir - all folders work fine, except one which does not list it's content when I click it When I look on the server, I see all the mails inside the folder, but once I click the folder and ask thunderbird to

A Couple Assertion Failures
Here's a couple of assertion failures from CVS version as of Oct. 6. There's also a segfault but the core file was empty so I don't know if the log entries are much help. BTW, the searching speed using pine has dramatically improved, nice work! Hey everyone, I'm trying version 1.0rc2, via the rpm at ATrpms. I'm running on CentOS 4.3 on an Opteron system. I have this running stably on a 32 bit system, but I'm crashing constantly on a 64 bit system. passing remote ip to pam
to improve forensic log info i want to set the PAM_RHOST value to the remote ip (which pam logs as rhost=foo in failure messages). i didn't look to see if anything has been done in this way on CVS because i'm still on 0.99.10.6. below is a bit of a hack. in some sense the remote_ip might make more sense in the AUTH_LOGIN_REQUEST_NEW packet rather than the continue packet... but that

Problem with AUTH causes serverside lockup
Hello all, I am running Dovecot alpha1, and after about 24 hours of the server working fine, it starts to lock up when I open Thunderbird to check mail. Basically I can see new mail, but when I click it, it just hangs at "Loading message...". I get the following in my maillog: Aug 23 09:25:28 palantir dovecot: auth(default): client in: AUTH 1 PLAIN service=IMAP

beta8: cores on corrupted index file
Timo, I saw a couple of these cores over the weekend. The syslog says: May 21 19:04:48 emerald dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(user): Corrupted index cache file /home/students/s/user/.imap/sent-mail-apr-2004/dovecot.index.cache: indexid changed With a resulting core file from imap at this time. I also discovered a remaining lock file on the person's imap file: -rw------- 1 user

Index cache file problems in Dovecot 1.2.0
I've been seeing lots of index cache file errors (using mbox on Solaris 8 sparc 64-bit, but with 32-bit Dovecot) since I switched my account to Dovecot 1.2.0 (we're still on 1.0.15 mostly, but I'm hoping to upgrade to 1.1.17+ this summer, or 1.2.x if it's stable enough). e.g. Error: Corrupted index cache file <path>/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index.cache: field index too large (47

Dovecot with Imp problems
Hi guys, I've run into a strange problem using beta 8 and beta 9 when using the latest version of Horde/IMP Through IMP, I can see that there are messages in the maildir on the sidemenu(popup menu) but the emails don't show in my actual inbox. I thought this was an IMP problem, but then I downgraded to dovecot 99 series RPM and this resolved the problem. I was seeing the following

dovecot.index.cache
Hopefully someone can explain/help me with the dovecot.index.cache file. I am wanting to move a dovecot server (v1.0b7) onto a new box running the same version (1.0b7) of dovecot. To do this I rsync'd the maildir files to the new server but when I logged into the new machine through IMAP dovecot reported: IMAP(username): file index-mail.c: line 105 (index_mail_get_fixed_field): assertion
