Samba dns update failing
Hey Samba!
I'm trying to join a Samba file server to the Samba PDC and although it
works well I have some issues regarding the DNS. Whenever I try to run
samba_dnsupdate I get the following response.
samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names
IPs: ['10.0.20.1']
Traceback (most recent call last):

test49 Authenticate PLAIN disabled stops pop3s
Unlike test47, test49 refuses to authenticate pop3s
if disable_plaintext_auth = yes
Checked the crypto with: snort -vde tcp port 995
The connection is being made with ssl so it looks like
the plaintext auth preventer is broken.

Samba AD DC: share access denied
Hey Samba,
For the last year I've been trying to set up a Samba Active Directory with a share which will hold the profiles of users so that Windows users can be implemented with the roaming profiles functionality.
I started out with an Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS on which I configured routing, forwarding and dhcp. After which I followed the Setting up Samba as an Active Directory Domain

SLOW connections
Hi everyone,
I have a small home network with a Samba 2.2.3 server on Linux serving
up my files and printers. However, from windows machines (win 98)
connecting to a share takes an annoyingly long time (in the order of 10s
of seconds) Connecting from a linux box is very quick. I have
configured Windows 98 to fully reconnect the share on logon. If I don't,
Windows Explorer hangs all

Detecting unused accounts
I'm looking for a way to figure out which accounts have not been logged in
to in over n days. It occurs to me that, perhaps, the way to do this
would be to look at the mtime on one of the dovecot-maintained files, like
'dovecot-uidlist'. Is there a particular file that would be modified on
(almost) every login, whether it be via POP or IMAP?

R CMD build error (RProtoBuf on windows)
Hello all,
I am trying to port the package RProtoBuf to windows. The developers of RProtoBuf have given me some helpful pointers so far, but now I am stuck.
After having made what I think are the necessary changes to the package to compile on windows, "R CMD build RProtoBuf" outputs a somewhat cryptic error ("This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual

autocorrelation test
Hi all,
I would like to test the relevance of a vector field (i.e. if the
vectors are organized or not).
To do so, I would like to use an autocorrelation test, so that I have
two questions:
- is the Watson test applicable to that perpuse ?
- is the kuiper test applicable to that purpuse ?
Regards

http://dovecot.org/test/
Been a while since last release. Still seems there are some mbox
problems, but I haven't been able to break anything for last few days.
I guess it's stable enough. At least more stable than test46 which
crashed quite often when expunging.

Xen and name based virtual hosting?
Hello,
is it possible to set up name based
virtual hosts (domains) with Xen?
I have read that every domain get''s
its own IP address. Is it possible
to set up a Xen Server with one
global IP address for all the virtual
hosts (domains)?
Thanks in advance,
Winfried

File uploaded to webDAV server on GlusterFS AFR - ends up without xattr!
Hello list.
I'm testing GlusterFS AFR mode as a solution for implementing a highly
available webDAV file storage for our production environment.
Whlie doing performance tests I've notticed a strange behavior: the
files which are uploaded via a webDAV server, end up without extended
attributes, which removes the ability to self-heal.
The set up is a simple testing environment with 2

I add "export CC=clang export CXX=clang++" to mozconfig file.
I wonder whether you guys have built firefox with clang in Linux. Could

[LLVMdev] LLVM Logo
Hi All,
I'm happy to announce that Apple has agreed to let llvm.org (and
anyone else) use the great LLVM logo they designed for WWDC. If
you're interested, you can see the full version of the logo on this
page:
http://llvm.org/Logo.html
I personally think that this is a pretty great logo/mascot for LLVM,
because it is very abstract, can be adapted in a variety of ways, is
