Thanks, Timo, that did the trick. Also thanks to Quentin for his reply, though I don't understand any of it. As stated, my knowledge of unix is rather limited... On Thu, 2004-04-29 at

Concerned about Dovecot's new NTLM code
I'm pleased to see another project increasing compatibility with windows clients, by the addition of NTLM login support, but I'm a bit worried about a few implementation details, and hope to offer an alternate approach. I mean no disrespect to those who have implemented to the code so far, but I feel that the idea of 'everybody re-implement NTLM' is prone to failure. Firstly, to

Old (really old) programs under CentOS.
Ok, I have a small dilemma, and I'm hoping someone here has had to do this before. I have at a site (not PARI) a server running some mission critical software that was written in 1997 for libc5, under AOLserver 2.3.? No, source code is not available for that version of AOLserver (it wasn't open-sourced until version 3.0, and the API changed rather dramatically at that point), not that it

Problem with virtual user mailbox initialization
Hello, I'm trying to set up a postfix/dovecot server where postfix hands over incoming mail to dovecot using lmtp virtual transport via a Unix socket. Dovecot is then supposed to write the mail to /var/mail/<domain>/<user>/ using a virtual users setup. It seems to work except for failing when the mailbox is supposed to be initially created: Jun 22 03:25:04 lmtp(2400, dkasak at

(slightly OT) syncing / migrating IMAP mailboxes
Hi! I fear this may be slightly off-topic but it's both related to IMAP and to dovecot: Is there any good and in paticular realiable program for synching / migrating one IMAP mailbox to another? The most important features for me is that a) no mails are lost / left out silently and b) the porgram is able to sync the complete mailbox including all folders without just giving up in the

mailsync: NO Unexpected EOF
Hello, I am trying to migrate off a MS Exchange 5.0 server. I am using mailsync (http://www.linux-france.org/prj/imapsync/) to copy the files to a Dovecot server, version 0.99.10.7. For particular messages I get the following error: Couldn't append msg #114081 (Subject:[RE: balh blah]) to folder INBOX: Error trying to append: 826 NO Unexpected EOF I think this is Dovecot, complaining

Configuration for binding to "secure" ports?
[Note to R. Wolff -- thanks for the pointers and the program. As I understand its workings, it would run as root and bind a listen port to a particular program -- with a list being supplied in /etc/portadmin or other file. Basically, a listen wrapper. Hopefully this message will address your cleanup concerns in my previous message. Thanks. Also, you may want to provide a moderator''s

Dovecot shared library to replace libc-client
Hi all Dovecotters, Lots of programs (e.g, PHP) link to a library called c-client, which is a derivative of the original IMAP implementation, UW IMAP. (For those new to UW IMAP, read here: http://www.washington.edu/imap/ ) UW IMAP is not in as much of active development as it used to be, so I am curious: I see there is a dovecot shared library. I haven't looked into the details, but

Send admin kill request to server
Hi everybody, finally I found a solution! First, Icecast requires a Basic Authorization, which has to provide via a header. But this can't be done via JavaScript or JQuery, due the security features of the browsers. For more detail information see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/75463305/difference-basic-authorization- between-postman-and-jquery-ajax/75493285#75493285. Thanks for

Let's exclude it is the client which causes the problem: Connect directly to the IMAPS server on CLI. openssl s_client -connect <server ip>:993 You hopefully see a greeting message

[fdo] Request to host project "OpenSync" a synchronization framework
Hi i am Armin Bauer, one of the developers of Multisync, an application to sync various pdas, cellulars and other programs (see www.multisync.org for further information) We recently ran into design limitations with our current version, which was where we decided to develop a new major version of Multisync. I started working on the new design but quickly noticed to there are a lot of other

This is not fully correct. It depends on the configuration and may change with different versions of the server. An important note here, and to be honest the main reason why I

o.99rc2 works on PowerPC - sort of...
Hi all, The new release starts on PowerPC now. On to the next problem... :-) When accessing my folders through Pine (setup to always go through IMAP, even local mboxes) I get "kicked out" it seems, pretty often. Here's what shows in the logfile: imap(jonas): file imap-bodystructure.c: line 342 (part_write_body): assertion failed: (part->children->next == NULL) - Jonas --

Good Morning Philipp, that make be a good point. But it would be very helpful, if in the Icecast documentation would be very clear defined, which kind of authorization is required for which server version. At least, I could not find anything! -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Icecast [mailto:icecast-bounces at xiph.org] Im Auftrag von Philipp Schafft Gesendet: Samstag, 18. Februar 2023

Send admin kill request to server
Hi Fred, I am understand the requirements already a little bit better. What I have to Do is a HTTP GET with a Basic Authorization in the header. I have tested it with 'Postman' and it works fine with Icecast. But I have to do it with Javascript or JQuery. Therefore curl doesn't help me. I try to use Ajax for that, but something goes wrong. If I do it without Autorization, I got

Good Morning Philipp, I think it is not that simple, that you maybe believe. In the standard, you are mentioned, are described the possibilities, which are possible. The Icecast documentation should define, which one is implemented by the Icecast server und this part is missing.
