Corrupted index files
Hi,
I'm playing with Dovecot in a lab environment and got it in state
where it crashes on every incoming connection.
I moved mail spool from ext2 file system to a ReiserFS on a another
disk, mount point changed from /var/vmail to /spool/vmail. After that
I managed to open mailbox and I moved about 2000 messages from INBOX
to a subfolder.
Then I tried to open mailbox with POP3 and it

Sig11 and some corrupted indexes after 1.0-stable -> 1.0.alpha1
I just upgraded my production box from 1.0-stable to 1.0.alpha1. I've
noted some new errors in my dovecot logs:

Dovecot on Redhat GFS
Now that Redhat released GFS to GLP has anyone gotten around to
test Dovecot on top of that?

1.0-test75 and roadmap for v1.0
http://dovecot.org/test/
Keywords are finally stored in maildir filenames and listed in
"dovecot-keywords" file. It should be possible to just rename 0.99.x's
.customflags file to dovecot-keywords (but it can't be renamed back
after modification).
Also fixed another uid/sequence mixup bug with setting keywords in
general (in mbox too).
Fixed SHA1 checksum generation with

1.0-test59
http://dovecot.org/test/
No-one had been testing 1.0-tests with Evolution? It was pretty much
completely broken with messages having attachments.
- test58's output stream code change were entirely wrong and caused bad
breakages with mbox.
- Named pipes are now treated as write-only mboxes (blocks if no-one is
reading, perhaps it should timeout in a few seconds?)
- FETCH BODY[n.xxx]

1.0-test77
http://dovecot.org/
It's hot in here. Something like 25-30c for many days now. My brains
don't work in that heat.
So, this is still not an 1.0-alpha1. I'll put it out when I think the
release will actually be fully working :)
Changes since test76:
- Fixes to FETCHing MIME body parts, especially with message/rfc822
attachments. We hadn't been handling this entirely correctly

mbox slowness in dovecot-1.0-test61
Hi,
We're trying out Dovecot to see if it's a good replacement for UW-imapd.
It seems to be very slow in opening an mbox file, even after it's been
indexed. (I mean way slower than UW)
Here's some info on the system:
Dovecot-1.0-test61

I've tried turning off mmap, using dotlocking, using fcntl locking

1.0 alpha1 released
As promised a few days ago, 1.0.alpha1 release is now available from
Dovecot web page.
Changes since 1.0-test80 include only one mbox assert crashfix and
removed fsync() call when writing to transaction log, making it a bit
faster.
I changed the version number also since 1.0-tests to 1.0.alpha. I know
'-' is problematic to binary package builders, maybe the new versioning
is better?

verbose imap logging
Implements more verbose imap logging (when client exits).
Similar to existing logging in POP3.
Due to the nature of imap and my incomplete understanding (of the
dovecot code) the session statistics reported have varying accuracy.
Much better than nothing IMO.
Cheers,
Jens

a few questions about my experience with alpha1
Hi all,
I've just switched from 0.99.10.6 to alpha1 on a Solaris 9 system,
and I have a few questions:
1) I'm using "verbose_proctitle = yes" but I don't see the special
username or IP address information in the output of ps. I've used:
ps -fu dovecot
ps -ef | grep dovecot
/usr/ucb/ps aux | grep dovecot
The process table simply shows the /usr/local/sbin/dovecot,

[R-sig-ME] Documentation for the glm module in jags/rjags?
It turns out that when I use GUI (file-change dir) to set the working
directory, R will crash.
If I use setwd() instead, the example runs well.

1.0-test40
http://dovecot.org/test/
- Fixed dying with SIGIO signal with busy Maildir + Linux + IDLE system
- Fixed maildir syncing: "UIDs not ordered in file" errors could have
occured sometimes wrongly
- --with-ioloop=epoll enables epoll code with Linux 2.6. Untested after
my changes.
- Pretty big changes in internal index handling code (I started this
change 2-3 months ago..)

1.0-test66
http://dovecot.org/test/
I've still lots of mails in my INBOX and in this list that I should be
looking into.. But here's a release that fixes at least some things.
Maybe I'll make another one tomorrow..
Most importantly keyword code was changed a lot. It's now faster and
less buggy. The keywords are also finally written into mbox, and keyword
changes in the mbox are picked up.

1.0alpha1: assert and core
Hi,
I've been running 1.0alpha1 in production since August 18, and
got my first assert and core yesterday. Otherwise it has been
running flawlessly.
My setup: Sun E220R, Solaris 9, compiled dovecot with gcc 4.0.1,
configured dovecot like so:
#!/usr/bin/sh
VERSION=1.0-alpha1
CC=gcc CFLAGS="-g -O" CPPFLAGS=-I/opt/openssl/include LDFLAGS=-L/opt/openssl/lib \
./configure
