FC2 POP3/SMTP Configuration
OK, let me try this again. . . . I'm a newbie to dovecot and a little bit less of a newbie to linux. I am in the process of moving my server from RH9 to FC2. The only obstacle remaining is my email. I run dovecot (v0.99.14) POP3 and sendmail (8.12.11-4.6) with Mozilla (1.4.2 and others), Thunderbird (1.0.2) and Netscape (7.1 on PC's, etc) mail clients - mostly PC's (W2K, WXP).

[Fwd: Re: [Evolution] evo confused when searching message bodies on large folders?]
Is this possibly a problem with dovecot 0.99.10.9? Maybe it's been fixed in a later release? Might it be a security issue? dovecot IMAP misserving problem?
http://togami.com/~warren/archive/2003/evolution-1.4.4-crash.mbox I suspect that dovecot-0.99.10 is misserving this message in some way that is confusing some IMAP clients. This behavior causes evolution-1.4.4 to segfault, and squirrelmail-1.4.1 to be unable to read the message. The same message served by uw-imapd works works fine in both evolution and squirrelmail.

Newbie: IE5.5
howdy, i am very new to WINE and have looked around for some docs on howto get IE5.5 running, but can't seem to find anything straight foward. i just installed RH7.2, and am running Ximian GNOME, without a Windows partition. WINE is apparently installed by default with RH7.2. i tried the simple 'archnid' (solitaire) program and seemed to work ok. however, i have the IE5.5 executable,

dovecot and evolution
I am using dovecot 0.99.13 and Evolution 2.0.2 on Fedora Core 3. Incomplete server response: no information provided for message 1. I got a transcript of the conversation between Evolution and dovecot. The relavent section

Somewhat OT as this may not be CentOS/EL-specific. Linux as a workstation client
I'm exploring the idea of using Linux as a workstation OS for some of the users where I work. Most of the issues I've looked at seem resolvable, but I keep running into one sticking point. We rely heavily on shared folders on our Samba server, using ACLs to restrict things on a departmental basis. What I'd need is a way to mount these folders with the permissions of the current

Domain membership problem in OpenSuse 10.2
Dear Everyone, I am trying to use an OpenSuse 10.2 computer on a Windows 2000 domain using winbind authentication (join to domain). I added a few lines to the smb.conf for extracting sfu attributes, and my smb.conf looks like this: [global] idmap backend = ad idmap gid = 1000-100000 idmap uid = 1000-100000 winbind uid =

CRASH: mail-cache-fields.c crash - new info, hacked 'solution'
I'm baaaaack. :-) I've managed to implement a suggestion from Hans Morten Kind from this list that seems to have stopped the crashing. However, my hack - commenting out a call to i_unreached() - makes me queasy because I have no idea of the ramifications of it (I don't habitually code, myself). So I wanted to lay it out for y'all in case this is a problem that you feel

Making POP3 not retrieve deleted messages
Since my users often use the webmail system to delete messages to save their poor strained dial-up POP3-using mail clients, and our new web mail system isn't expunge-happy like the last one, I found need for this patch -- it adds a configuration option for pop3 "pop3_ignore_deleted", a boolean, that does just that. I'd love feedback. Aria -------------- next part --------------
