Dovecot on Linux 2.6.0-test1-ac1
Hi all For various reasons I was looking into 2.6, so I installed a copy on my desktop. Everything works fine, except for dovecot - errors such as this appeared in the syslog: Jul 15 14:41:09 typhaon dovecot: Dovecot starting up Jul 15 14:41:12 typhaon imap-login: setuid(113) failed: Resource temporarily unavailable Jul 15 14:41:12 typhaon dovecot: Login process died too early - shutting down I

Hooks on folder operations
Hi all, I'm interested in implementing an anti-spam system using bayesian filtering. I had the idea of modifying and IMAP server to assist in training the spam filter. I was thinking of running a program whenever a message in moved to the folder "Spam" or to a "Safe" folder. This could be easily added to the server as a generic feature, with hook programs for: * new

Strange recursive delete problem.
Hi, I'm working for a company that has many users using samba and Red Hat Linux 6.1. We've found a problem that we can reproduce using the latest samba release (2.0.6). It is fairly hard to describe accurately but I will do my best. All of the users involved are in the group 'ihgtech'. The problem involves recursive deletion of directories owned by another user and the group

Warning from Sys.junction when using network drive.
I am running 3.4.3 on a windows server and I ran the code in a new session. I get a warning when running packrat::init() on a project that is located on a windows network drive. The warning I get is Warning message: cannot set reparse point 'U:/packrat5/packrat/lib-R/base', reason 'Access is denied' The error is created based inside the function .Internal(mkjunction(fr,

Patches
As the freeze for Debian sarge slowly approaches I want to make sure the Dovecot packages are in as good condition as possible. I see there have been a number of patches since 0.99.10. I have added the following patches: * segfault when user home directory is empty * Proper PAM service name * Make suid work on 2.6 kernels Any other patches thatI ought to add. Or better yet, will there be a

package installation fails when symlink of same name exists
R fails to install a package from source over a pre-existing package when the path to that package is a symlink, rather than a directory. A reproducible example to illustrate (using MASS as an example): # create a temporary R library in tempdir library <- tempfile() if (!dir.exists(library)) dir.create(library) # symlink MASS from system library to temporary library MASS

[LLVMdev] Regular Expression lib support
Hello LLVM Devs, I thought I'd weigh in on some of these non-backtracking linear time RegEx algorithms. If they're anything like the PackRat parsing algorithms they take at least 4x the amount of memory in terms of storage as the string length itself by not backtracking. That should be fine for small RegExes but it wouldn't do so well for more elaborate and long expressions. If

Samba Bug?
Hi, I've been trying to get in touch with someone to discuss a problem with Samba that I've been experiencing. I can reproduce the bug on the systems for which I am responsible, and am interested to know whether it is a local problem or a genuine bug. (I have searched the archives, updated to the latest Samba release and read the docs :) I posted to this list and have had no replies -

Creating a private CRAN with webpages
If I understand you correctly, you want to have a mirror of CRAN on a private server behind your firewall. Check out https://cran.rstudio.com/mirror-howto.html <https://cran.rstudio.com/mirror-howto.html> which gives instructions on how to do this. It is fairly hard to describe accurately but I will do my best. The bug is present if deleting from a smbmounted point under Linux or from Windows 98 through "Network Neighborhood." Creating a private CRAN with webpages
Hello, I am trying to setup a private CRAN for work (behind a firewall). The best options available include miniCRAN <https://github.com/RevolutionAnalytics/miniCRAN>, drat <https://github.com/eddelbuettel/drat> and packrat <https://rstudio.github.io/packrat/>. One problem is these packages do not automatically generate the web pages that are on the CRAN. Examples:

Trouble joining Windows 7 machines to Samba PDC
Hi folks, We have a domain controller running Samba 3.4.5 that is backed onto an OpenLDAP datastore. The domain has no trouble joining Windows XP clients, but we've got a couple of Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard that we can't join to the domain. The registry changes suggested in http://wiki.samba.org/index.php?title=Windows7&oldid=4766 have been applied, and a UNIX

Compiling SAMBA on Solaris 10 to use AD on Windows 2008 server
We've just set up a number of linux servers to access our AD server (Windows server 2008) and now have to set up a Solaris server. I've downloaded, compiled and install Samba (3.4.2), configured kerberos and am now trying to get it to join the AD. I get the following error: samba-3.4.2/source3# net ads join -U username Enter username's password: [2009/10/13 13:10:42, 0]

RPART - printing full splitting rule number on tree plot
Dear R-users I am using RPART package to get regression trees. However having trouble getting the text function to put the full splitting rule number on the plot, instead to puts it in scientific notation. When a covariate has 1e4 or greater number of digits then the splitting rule number displayed on the plot is in scientific notation. But print.rpart displays the splitting rules in full.

inconsistency in treatment of USE.NAMES argument
Changing the vapply() behavior makes sense in principle. I analyzed the CRAN code base using the R parser and found 143 instances of calling vapply with USE.NAMES=FALSE. These would need to be inspected to understand the consequences of the change. For reference: /AzureML/R/datasets.R:226 /BBmisc/R/toRangeStr.R:33 /DBI/R/DBDriver.R:205 /Kmisc/R/str_rev.R:37 /Matrix/R/diagMatrix.R:98
