Ruby vulnerability?
Hi,
FYI, Red Hat released an advisory today about a vulnerability in Ruby. So
far it doesn't appear in the VuXML, but am I correct in presuming it will
soon?

move from imap-uw
Hello!
I've just subscribed and I'd like to ask. Is there any troubles if I
change my imap-uw with davecot? Will davecot pick up imap-uw created
folders (mboxes)? I use all protocols: imap, imaps, pop and pops.
I've seen some problems with mbox was mention on this maillist. What
kind of problem?

Portupgrade preserves the libraries in /usr/local/lib/compat/pkg:
% ls /usr/local/lib/compat/pkg/

FreeBSD port of Dovecot
Hello. I am trying to install Dovecot 0.99.10.9 on a
FreeBSD 4.10 system from the ports collection (latest via
cvsup). When running make, I get the message:
dovecot-0.99.10.9 Currently incompatible with
security/gnutls
This is in contrast to the Dovecot web page which states
that it does support GNUtls and OpenSSL.
I am not really interested in gnutls/openssl support at
this time. Is

Debian sarge release and dovecot
In what must surely be the first sign of the apocalypse, Debian is
actually freezing in preperation for a new release. Probably the last day
for uploads will be August 17. Is there likely to be another dovecot
release by then? In the event of 0.99.10.9 being the released version,
are there any other patches Debian users would like me to include?

Problem with mysql...
Hello,
I am trying to run dovecot on my Linux. I am using an exim 3.30 as the MTA
with vmail-sql virtual users.
I have installed latest dovecot release and ran through the config file.
Some options seemed unclear to me, but generally I think it is OK.
The problem is, that MySQL authentication does not work. It even does not
try to authenticate! Dovecot connects correctly with MySQL database,

out of disk space notification
Hi Dovecot readers,
My server (squirrelmail) provides me with the following error-message
when selecting a mailbox (trash):
ERROR : Could not complete request.
Query: SELECT "Trash"
Reason Given: Out of disk space
The user is not over quota but for some reason dovecot still thinks this
to be true. Can anyone give me a hint for finding a solution for this
problem.
I have installed:

Workaround for outlook UIDL handling bug ??
Scenario: Using Dovecot 0.99.10.9 as pop3 server.
With delete on retrival off.

Problem: Everytihng work perfectly, except that outlooks keeps
re-downloading SOME mail over and over. Though it already got them.
No obvious pattern which, but only a small percentage.
First of I looked at dovecots UIDLs.

[Fwd: Re: [Evolution] evo confused when searching message bodies on large folders?]
Is this possibly a problem with dovecot 0.99.10.9?
Maybe it's been fixed in a later release?
Might it be a security issue?
Thanks!

Limit Number of Postgres Database Connections
I have dovecot running with postgres backend. I am exceeding my maximum
database connections (currently 40) with dovecot 0.99.10.9 and postfix
and was wondering if dovecot has a parameter to limit the total number
of database connections that it will create.

Dovecots pop3-UIDL command impl. not RFC compliant ?
Hi !
POP3-RFC (1939) speaks about UIDL command:
The unique-id of a message is an arbitrary server-determined
string, consisting of one to 70 characters in the range 0x21
to 0x7E, which uniquely identifies a message within a maildrop and which
persists across sessions.
When I issue an UIDL command (dovecot 0.99.10.9)
I get replies like
1 1093990148.1
2 1093990148.2
3 1093990148.3
...
.

Spaces removed from subjects in FETCH response
I'm using SpamAssassin to tag spam and prefix the spam score to the subject
line. To make the scores sort properly in the client's message list, I pad
the score with spaces to right-align it.
It looks like dovecot-0.99.10.9-1.FC3.2 is frustrating this by stripping
the excess spaces from the subject before reporting it in FETCH responses.
Here's an actual subject line:

Assertion failed in buffer.c
dovecot-0.99.10.5-0.FC2
I have had a report from a user that when accessing their inbox, the
connection is suddenly dropped. Dovecot reports the following:-
imap(user): file buffer.c: line 357 (buffer_set_start_pos): assertion
failed: (abs_pos <= I_MIN(buf->used, buf->limit))
From searching the list, I found an indication that it is a problem

R graphical question
I'm trying to create a graph using plot() with an axis that I
essentially want to plot the categories in the reverse alphanumeric
order - opposite of the typical R fashion. Is there a function to do
this?
In other words, I have categories "a", "c", "g", "z" which is the
order they'll be plotted, but I want to plot them as "z",
