100% CPU utilisation
Dovecot (0.9.11) consumes 100% CPU utilisation when accessing (either pop or imap) one of my mailboxes. It doesn''t happen with other mailboxes. The mailbox has about 500 mails while others have many more. They are all in mbox format. OS: OpenBSD-3.5 with all patches MTA: Sendmail-8.12.11 It happened with other RCs of dovecot-0.9.11 Configured as: ./configure --without-pam

Newbie about Mbox or Maildir
Hi, Thanks in advance. I am not sure if my system is setup to use 'mbox' or 'maildir'. How do I find this out? I am running an OpenBSD (v3.5) box with an Intel P3 motherboard. I have installed the OpenBSD port of Dovecot (0.99.10) and have manually started dovecot and configured the ssl certificates as per the documentation. As far as I can tell there is no problems but I am

rsync 2.5.5 Tru64 5.1
Hi, I am trying to compile rsync 2.5.5 on a Tru64 box. I downloaded configure.in revision 1.148, which I believe is the correct fix for the getaddrinfo problem; however I still have errors compiling rsync. Also I had to change line 22 in options.c from #include "popt.h" to #include "popt/popt.h". Any suggestions or ideas? Tan Dang

Suspicious sizes by different C compilers
Hi all, On my Alpha box running Tru64 5.1, rsync-2.5.4 compiled by GNU gcc 3.0.1 anh GNU make 3.79.1 has this size: 4562848. The same version of rsync compiled by Compaq C compiler V6.3-028 and Compaq make has this size: 655424. It is about _7 times_ smaller! I did a quick test and they seem both working OK. Is that normal to see a huge difference in binary size produced by gcc and vendor's

Bug in compile of rsync 2.5.4 on Tru64 UNIX V5.1a using cc
Greetings, here is the output of the 'configure' step and the compile step (using the Compaq cc compiler that comes with Tru64 V5.1A. The configure reported success and most of the compile steps cam through error/warning free except for the one that stumbled. Can someone help me out here? I am willing to provide a binary for Tru64 V5.1A if we can swat this bug. We depend greatly on Rsync

I added a "SQ and Dovecot FAQ" on the SQ website
On the Squirrelmail website I setup in the FAQ a quick install guid on how to get squirrelmail to work with Dovecot. Maybe someone can verify my setup procedure really quick. Maybe someone thinks this is wrong. Also if you have something to add please do so. No one has bothered to do this before so I took it upon my self. Here is the link in the FAQ its about 8 lines down

Rubies of Eventide and WINE
Hi. I'm using WINE on a Mac through Darwine and it's help application and I'm having trouble getting the program to run. First of all, whenever I start it I get a "Missing shell DLL 'cshell.dll'", even though I downloaded one and put it into the .wine directory in my home folder. Any ideas? I've followed all the current AppDB suggestions up to now, but it still

FreeBSD port of Dovecot
Hello. I am trying to install Dovecot 0.99.10.9 on a FreeBSD 4.10 system from the ports collection (latest via cvsup). When running make, I get the message: dovecot-0.99.10.9 Currently incompatible with security/gnutls This is in contrast to the Dovecot web page which states that it does support GNUtls and OpenSSL. I am not really interested in gnutls/openssl support at this time. Is

Debian sarge release and dovecot
In what must surely be the first sign of the apocalypse, Debian is actually freezing in preperation for a new release. Probably the last day for uploads will be August 17. Is there likely to be another dovecot release by then? In the event of 0.99.10.9 being the released version, are there any other patches Debian users would like me to include? -- Jaldhar H. Voicemail using object storage?
Hey, I've found a bit of chatter about people using hacks to copy voicemail messages into object storage (like S3) after they've been recorded. But I was wondering if any work has been done on the VoiceMail app to actually store and retrieve messages to/from an object store?
