Hanging @ Sendmail During Boot
Hi All,
I have a coupla queries about my 2 latest installs of CentOS 4-3. When I
first installed and logged in as the initial user, everything went well,
and the system was fast. A reboot, and 2nd login gave the same. But,
upon connecting to the net, the system hung at sendmail for almost
4mins, and then gave an error at login about not finding the host, and
that Gnome may not work

Blocking and compression.
Hello. I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm the guy that wrote kexis way
back when. For those of you that dont know, kexis was written before
flac, and pretty much does what flac does, although its not nearly as
nice or robust. I wrote kexis actualy cause I was interested in playing
around with lossless compression and shorten was about the only tool
that was linux friendly, but had a

check stats fail | part III
For grins, tried rebuilding R 2.9.0 without using ACML 4.3.0. Config
goes fine, make runs without any errors.
make check - and - ta-dah! - no errors for stats. Everything seems to
check out just fine.
So, it seems as if R 2.9.0, ACML 4.3.0, and perhaps one/more things
under CentOS don't play nice.
Will trying unloading 4.3.0, installing 4.2.0 (which worked before on
the Fedora box), and

FLAC__SSE_OS change
About the commit <http://git.xiph.org/?p=flac.git;a=commitdiff;h=e120037f3c67b23fd9eef7ccd04d2df57fa1a9a6>
I admit I don't understand the following lines:
#if !FLAC__SSE_OS
/* assume user knows better than us; turn it off */
disable_sse(info);
#elif defined(__FreeBSD__) || defined(__FreeBSD_kernel__) ......
Probably it should be
#if FLAC__SSE_OS

simple script idea
Hi there...
Foolish me.... all was going sooooooo well and then I got a wild hair and
updated to the latest clamav .92 today.
It is possible I should have just done an rpm update install yet there were
some changes in ClamAV lately and I didn't know how well that would go.
up till now I spec'd and rolled my own Clamav RPMs without milter
somewhat recently ClamAV changed from having a

AD order of installation
I don't see the following at
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_a_Samba_Active_Directory_Domain_Controller
There is an 'order' of installation for an AD. Some things must come
before others, some things can come when you may. Here is my take based
on what I have learned over the past weeks:
OS installation (listed for completeness, even though this is a 'dah' item).

Good point. As I run on an armv7 with no battery rtc, I have to get
time sync going before doing practically anything. It much depends on
how your system resolves before local DNS is running.

Hello, Everyone.
Now I have some spare time and I've decided to build LLVM on Mingw.
I've grab the latest 1.7 release (not CVS snapshot). Here are some
issues fixed during the build. Now I'm preparing gcc build. So, I

deSolve question
Dear All,
I like to simulate a physiologically based pharmacokinetics model using R
but am having a problem with the daspk routine.
The same problem has been implemented in Berkeley madonna and Winbugs so
that I know that it is working. However, with daspk it is not, and the
numbers are everywhere!
Please see the following and let me know if I am missing something...
Thanks a lot in advance,

Hi All
I have been struggling with this model for some time now and I just can't
get it to work correctly. The messages I get when running the code is:

(H = step size). Solver will continue anyway.
In above message, R =

How to generate a random variate that is correlated with a given right-censored random variate?
Hi,
I have a right-censored (positive) random variable (e.g. failure times subject to right censoring) that is observed for N subjects: Y_i, I = 1, 2, ..., N. Note that Y_i = min(T_i, C_i), where T_i is the true failure time and C_i is the censored time. Let us assume that C_i is independent of T_i. Now, I would like to generate another random variable U_i, I = 1, 2, ..., N, which is
