Logging IMAP transactions
Mulberry has the ability to log the IMAP exchange client-side. Is there an
equivalent logging feature in Dovecot (0.99) to log the IMAP exchange
server-side?
My problem is that Mulberry is displaying some complex MIME structures
incorrectly (eg. nested/forwarded messages) but it seems to go away if I
close a folder and re-open it. I'm suspecting that Dovecot is reporting the

Cannot access a file with Mulberry from a dovecot server if the mail does not end with a newline character.
I use Mulberry 3.1.6 on Windows to read my mails with dovecot 0.99.12
Solaris 9. There are some mail which I cannot read. When I try to open
such a mail, dovecot quits and restarts (I can see that with ps,
nothing is logged). The Mulberry log just looks like this:

Misbehavior with Dovecot and Mulberry
I'm having a bit of misbehavior wherein Dovecot seems to refuse to
cooperate with my Mulberry MUA. By and large, everything works great.
I can move mail back and forth happily. I can compose a note and copy
the outgoing mail to my Dovecot "Sent" folder using my default Mulberry
settings. But if I reply or forward a mail, I get a Mulberry error popup
saying that it

MIME Decoding Problem
I am having a recurring problem with Dovecot 1.0.8 failing to MIME-decode
certain messages. The client is Mulberry 4.0.8. The messages causing the
problem seem to be MIME messages with "no parts". I.e. the message has
some MIME encoding, but is just included as the message body. The kind of
effect I will see is a proliferation of untranslated =xx codes, or in
some cases an untranslated

lazy_expunge vs mulberry
I've configured the lazy_expunge plugin exactly like it says on the wiki.
I can't seem to configure Mulberry to find the new namespaces. Any hints?
I notice that the wiki says to use / as the separator. Mulberry has a
setting for this, and the default is '.'. Leaving this as '.' in Mulberry
and / in dovecot seems to work fine. (But I still can't access the

More than one logon script, can I have?
Hi,
RH7.3, Samba 2.2.8a, Win2KSP4 clients...
I was just wondering,
I know I can have a logon script based on a machine name, on a group, a
username, etc., but am I able to actually have a combination of the
above?
I would like to have a standard group logon script (which I currently do
have), but I would also like an extra script to run if they log on to
particular machines under my domain...

Serve list archives by dovecot IMAP
Has anyone considered setting up a Dovecot public server to serve the list
archives by IMAP? Or does Dovecot not do anonymous read-only access?
(I note by comparison that the Cyrusoft Mulberry list archives are served
by an IMAP server. <http://www.cyrusoft.com/mulberry/support/anonimap.html>)
It should be sufficient to set up Dovecot on some server in the dovecot.org
domain and

Can't remove folder (no thunderbird issue)
Hi,
first of all: yes, I already dug the internet but didn't find a solution - that's why I'm asking you.
My provider uses dovecot, although I can't tell you more about the version - sorry. Mail is stored in mbox format.
My trouble:
I was unable to create subfolders and googled a bit. A proposed solution was to append a slash at the end of the folder name.
I used Thunderbird to

new to dovecot, dealing with MH foders
Hello,
I'm sorry if this is a repeat, a few choice searches into google didn't
help and I found no search for the archives.
I can no longer put of moving away from UW-IMAP. Dovecot certainly seems to
be the right choice, but I am having problems getting it to do what I need
it to for all my mail. The machine is running the dist version, 0.99.12.
I have a system mailbox and a large MH

Renamed PDC, now user profiles don't work
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I just changed the NetBIOS name of my PDC (*not* the name of the domain)
and now the security properties of the domain user profile on my
Win2kSP4 workstation shows "S-1-5-21-..." as the user rather than the
username.
Also, System Properties|User Profiles shows that the account has been
switched to a local profile and has been *deleted.*

Multiple histograms in one chart
Hi!
I've searched quite a while and this is probably a
very easy question: How do I
prevent a new hist() histogram from clearing the chart
window before drawing?
I would like to have several histograms simply drawn
on each other in one chart...
Thanks for your help!

Printing problems Win2K SP4 on 3.0.x and 2.x
I'm afraid I am stumped, and need some help or pointers.
Ever since I've "upgraded" my Win2k boxes to SP4, I've been unable to print
to Samba-shared printers (on Solaris and Freebsd). Originally I was
running
the current 2.2.x, and figured trying to diagnose the problem would provide
an impetus for trying 3.0, which I have from beta3 through RC1. That bit

history is

Small problem with XP client
Hi all,
got a small problem with a windows XP client when logging onto a 2.7 samba
server.
While the user can log on o.k., every time they do, notepad fires up and
opens desktop.ini for editing.
Can anyone suggest why and how to fix this.

Problem: mail moved by thunderbird script is invisible to mail clients, but in cur directory
Over the last year I've had a script moving old mail (120 days) into my
annual archive folder. This is the first year I've done this with Dovecot,
previously it was running against Cyrus.
There's nothing particularly clever: a few conditions to match, then "move
message to" the appropriate archive folder. There's one for every year
from 2000 to 2015. 2015 is just
