Dovecot-1.0-test32 fails with assertion
Hello,
dovecot-1.0-test32 continuously fails on one of our customers mboxes
with the following error:
Sep 11 16:27:15 web dovecot: POP3(xxxxxxxxxxxxx.de1): file
mbox-sync-rewrite.c: line 360 (mbox_sync_read_and_move): assertion
failed: (need_space == -mails[idx].space)
About 200 other mboxes are working perfectly on the same server. Where
should I start looking for the cause of this?

Large mbox files.
I'm very sorry if this is a faq. I've spent considerable time reading
documentation and doing Google searches to no avail...and the mailing list
archive isn't searchable as far as I can tell.
Anyway, the question: When I try to open a large mbox file from Squirrel Mail I
receive the following Dovecot error:

Chi-Square Test Disagreement
I was asked by my boss to do an analysis on a large data set, and I am
trying to convince him to let me use R rather than SPSS. I think Sweave
could make my life much much easier. To get me a little closer to this
goal, I ran my analysis through R and SPSS and compared the resulting
values. In all but one case, they were the same. Given the matrix

Asserion Failure in Current CVS
Just installed the version from CVS as of Oct. 27.
I noticed three problems quite quickly:
Still seeing "(imap) killed with signal 14"
My INBOX closed with "access error" after reading it for a bit. There's
nothing in the logs or anything, but this hasn't happened for quite a
while now. There where quite a lot of incoming messages at the time and

mbox_sync_read_and_move failure
Hi,
I recently switched to using dovecot for my IMAP server. I'm running
dovecot 1.0rc10 on redhat linux 7.3. The filesystem is ext2, not
NFS. I'm using mbox for mail storage. It worked okay for a day or
two, but now when I try to check my mail I get an error from
evolution, my imap client, saying that the server unexpectedly
disconnected. In the server logs I see:

With rc8, where I had already increased "login_max_processes_count" from
default 128 to 1024, we had still hit the issue of too many logins
crashing dovecot, so that trial had only lasted a couple of

Error: child 469 (imap) killed with signal 6 (with rc25)
I updated to the latest rc25 and started getting these messages(over and
over again). This is on a Solaris 10 box and I tried compiling with gcc
and sun c. I backed down to rc23 and the messages went away and
everything works. Any body have an idea on what could be wrong?
thank you

RC10 errors
I just installed a limited test of RC10 last night. So far, all is great
except for errors being logged for one user (out of about 150 users total).
This one user has not yet complained or anything, but the log file has
repeated
entries of the following format for him (host and username changed to protect
the guilty/innocent):

[PATCH 0/10] NTLM patchset submission
Hello all,
as I promised some days ago here is NTLM (aka SPA, aka MSN) authentication
support patchset.
It contains common code in src/lib-ntlm directory, Samba compatible
NTLM password scheme and authentication mechanism itself.
All patches are against 1.0-test30.
Please take a look.
Best regards.

Instead of having "Should v1.0 be released already" discussion, how
about having "What's still missing from wiki.dovecot.org and how could
it be improved" discussion? And what should the wiki exported to doc/
