I was digging through some of the archives and ran into someone who was
having the same problem, but for completely different reasons....i think.

"undo" a model
In the event that I really don''t want a certain model, can I delete it?
Is there a tool that I can use besides ''rm'' to ensure I hit everything
related to the model?
Right now my only guess is to just remove all files that match a
filemask and hope for the best.

JIRA anyone?
I''m trying to evaluate what use I can make of JIRA with Rails/Ruby and am
getting frustrated.
The jira4r gem will install but the soap4r gem won''t load.
literally: ''irb -r soap4r'' returns :cannot load such file...
I also set this up in a Gemfile and tried to run this from the rails
console:

in a major jam... authentication
I was upgrading my debian box and managed to upgrade my dovecot
installation at the same time. I wasn't planning on it, but it came
along just the same.
I took some notes on what I thought I needed to change, but apparently
it wasn't enough.
I've been running this for quite some time now with pgsql authentication
and it's been one of those nice applications that always

Problems compiling PHP --with-imap - can't find rfc822.h
I'm trying to add webmail (IMP/HORDE) to my OpenBSD 3.5 mail server
(Procmail/Amavid/SA/DCC/Razor/Dovecot 0.99.10.7), which means adding
PHP and several other libraries.
I'm building PHP 4.3 from the ports tree and, as per the IMP/HORDE
readme files, added --with-imap to the makefile. Makeing PHP barfs
with a "Cannot find rfc822.h. Please check your IMAP installation."

Getting the SMTP envelope through IMAP?
Hi,
just a simple question about dovecot:
The mbox file format contains the SMTP envelope sender and transmission
date in a FROM ... line preceding the RFC822 mail header and body.
As far as I see at the moment, the IMAP protocol does not support
transmission of that SMTP envelope data in either way, but confusingly
uses the term ?envelope? for a structure describing the RFC822 mail header.

Test migration (IMAP copy) and INTERNALDATE?
We're trying some migration tests ... from CommuniGate to Dovecot. The
migration program does an APPEND into the new mailbox:
src>: a0 FETCH 2900 (FLAGS INTERNALDATE RFC822.PEEK)
src<: * 2900 FETCH (FLAGS (\Seen) INTERNALDATE "29-Aug-2005 18:36:54
+0000" RFC822 {1194157}
src<: )
dst>: bAPP APPEND "INBOX" (\Seen) "29-Aug-2005 18:36:54 +0000" {1194157}

Editing Strings in R
I was wondering if there is a way of editting strings in R. I
have a set of strings and each set is a row of numbers and paranthesis.
For example the first row is:
(0 2)(3 4)(7 9)(5 9)(1 5)
and I have a thousand or so such rows. I was wondering how I
could get the corresponding string obtained by adding 1 to all the
numbers in the string above.

Non sensical AGI Error
I'm getting an error back from an AGI Dial command. Weird thing is that it's STILL performing the Dial.
Here's what I am sending (without the paranthesis):
(EXEC DIAL "SIP/10000|5|tr")
and here's what I am getting (without the paranthesis):
(510 Invalid or unknown command)
Why would I get this response to a seemingly good command? And why would Asterisk go ahead and

Probably a bad idea but.....
Hi all,
I've got a few users I'm trying to migrate from a Mercury Mail server to
a dovecot IMAP/POP3 setup. I was hoping to use some sort of imap-copy
type script to move email from the Mercury server to dovecot server, but
the Mercury box is running so slow it's impossible.
Mercury stores mail in a similar way to Maildirs, different folders with
separate files for each mail, stored

dovecot IMAP misserving problem?
http://togami.com/~warren/archive/2003/evolution-1.4.4-crash.mbox
I suspect that dovecot-0.99.10 is misserving this message in some way
that is confusing some IMAP clients. This behavior causes
evolution-1.4.4 to segfault, and squirrelmail-1.4.1 to be unable to read
the message. The same message served by uw-imapd works works fine in
both evolution and squirrelmail.

Dsync fails to connect to remote IMAP server
Hi,
I'm trying to migrate from an old courier IMAP server to Dovecot 2.3.1
(8e2f634). The old server uses self signed SSL certificate.
I'm using the following configuration:
imapc_host = 10.1.1.3
imapc_user = %u
imapc_features = rfc822.size fetch-headers
imapc_port = 993
imapc_ssl = imaps
imapc_ssl_verify = no
mail_prefetch_count = 20
mail_shared_explicit_inbox = no

Environment problems
Dear list readers,
Can someone of you explain this behavior. Here's a toy example:
Start by constructing a function tmp
>fix(tmp)
In the default editor enter this one-liner:
hist(rnorm(10))
close the editor and run environment on the function.
> environment(tmp)
<environment: R_GlobalEnv>
Open the editor and remove the last parenthesis, this will make the
editor choke.

appears, all of a sudden).

IMAP message ID bad for very old message
Hi,
I just noticed that the ordering by message ID when accessing my
email via IMAP is messed up. I'm looking in the INBOX that contains
11757 emails. For some reason a load of emails from 2009 and 2010 are
being listed near the top, for example I have a message with ID 11441
from 2009 where it definitely shouldn't be, its all mixed in with
emails from 2011 there.

Wrong message information reported shortly after delivery
Hi,
If an IMAP fetch is issued some "short" time after a message was delivered
with dovecot deliver then dovecot reports wrong (zero) values
for that new message. Afterward, it reports the information OK.
This causes problems to our IMAP client.
The problem is easily reproduced with a large message on a slow machine.
I'm using dovecot 1.0.10
Here's a sample trace:
