Postfix/Dovecot/SaSL/MySQL Problem
I have a current working installation of Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL. I
want to utilize the Dovecot implementation of SaSL for SMTP-AUTH. Here
is the issue I am running into when making the appropriate changes to my
configs, when starting Dovecot with the addition of the socket listen
configuration in dovecot.conf, I see this error in the logs:

dovecot 1.0alpha 4 error
I tried to research this but could not find anything. Apologies if
someone already reported this issue.
I was running alpha 3 on Solaris 9, and having some timeout issues on
lasge mailboxes. Decided to upgrade to rc4 before tweaking anything
else. On rc4, when I try to start dovecot, I am getting:

Hi,
I installed dovecot from dovecot-1.0-test51 with this configure line:
./configure --with-mysql --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc
--localstatedir=/var --with-ssldir=/etc/ssl --with-ssl=openssl
When I add this to my dovecot.conf:
passdb = mysql /etc/dovecot-mysql.conf
I get this in /var/log/maillog when I run "dovecot -c /etc/dovecot.conf":

I have been installed dovecot-0.99.10.6 in my FreeBSD 4.10 with

auth_passdb = mysql /usr/local/etc/dovecot-mysql.conf
the program gives me the next error:

Fedora dovecot Testing Needed
http://people.redhat.com/wtogami/temp/dovecot/
dovecot-0.99.10.5 binary packages for FC1 and FC2 are available here. I
need feedback from Fedora users with THESE ACTUAL BINARIES before
pushing them to official updates.
Note:
This does not solve the SSL related crash issue. That requires a patch
to OpenSSL or kernel. I am still trying to convince the maintainers to
patch it.

0.99.12-1.1.fc1.rf broken?
Hi,
I dont know if this is a dovecot problem, or the rpm build, me, or my
computer ;)
Was wondering if anyone else has been having problems using the
0.99.12-1.1.fc1.rf release from http://dag.wieers.com/packages/dovecot/
My specific problem is this.
1. Dovecot starts
2. You can login using telnet
3. You can issue a select inbox but nothing seems to happen
By this stage dovecot is spiraling

Crash (segfault) while reading folder headers
Occasionally, while reading the headers of a folder, Dovecot crashes.
The visible effect in my mail client is that it will tell me a folder
has a new message, but when I click on it, it will take forever to
load, and there will be no new messages. When another message comes
in to that folder, the folder begins to work again.
I generated a core from the latest crash, and the gdb dump is included

USERDB environment is unset
Hello,
I tried the v1.0 test of dovecot, because it should make the directories
for me.
I configured it and installed it. The old one is still there, but I shut
it down to test the other version.
When I start the new v1.0 test of dovecot i get the following message in
my log:

child 29480 (auth) returned error 89, FC5, Postfix, MySql, mbox....arghhhh
Hi all,
I have been putting a small (simple?)dedicated email server together
to (ultimately) host a couple of domains. I am currently getting the
configuration to work with one domain w/local mbox users and then
plan to extend it to virtual users and an additional domain. Dovecot
has been a problem to integrate in the configuration.
The basic pieces are FC5, Postfix, Dovecot, with

nmbd dies every day
Hi there, i have 2 samba servers (1 with ver 3.0.0-15 - will do an
update soon - other with 3.0.2-7.FC1) both installed on Fedora 1.B and
my problem is that for some reason one of them (3.0.0-15 to be exact)
stops every day a few hours after everybody goes home. I had the same
version on the other server and that never happened. Please any ideas
why this happens?

Hi everyone,
I want to convert some 50 new machines that an organization is getting into Fedora Linux workstations.
This is the current setup:
The organization currently has one Primary Windows 2000 ADS and 2 numbers of Windows 2000 servers acting as Backup domain servers.
There are currently some 50 workstations already in the network and these are all Windows 2000 professional machines.
