Hooking postfix into dovecot
Cyrus has to be added to master.cf and transport_maps has to be set to "cyrus:localhost". So my question is how do I get the mails from postfix to dovecot? Hope it's okay to submit these type of questions here :) Thanks -- Tom Sommer -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Maildir quotas support in Dovecot and 2 other newbie questions
I am not familiar with all the features that Dovecot has, but I am familiar with Courier IMAP using Maildir. Does Dovedot have a software based Maildir supporting quota program like Courier IMAP ? Can maildrop be used with Dovecot for quotas ? Courier IMAP has maildrop integrated. - If maildrop support is turned on in Courier IMAP, then a user will get a quota warning mail message

dovecot vs cyrus, uw, etc.
I've been doing research on switching our current e-mail server (qpopper, sendmail) to imap. The decision on which server to use is essentially down to Cyrus and Dovecot -- I like Cyrus' approach to a lot of things, but the "blackbox" nature of it makes some niceties like using spamassassin and procmail difficult, or at least counterintuitive. Dovecot seems to play nicer with

Dovecot and Phpgroupware compatibility
Hi, recently moved our server from mbox format to Maildir format. Almost all the users are very happy with this, since the speed had increased very much. I used mb2md to do the conversion and on this task all the mailboxes that had "." (dot) on their names were converted to "_". But there is one issue with this, we also use the webmail that comes with Phpgroupware, and it uses

Outgoing calls for a fancy address book app
Hi ! I'd like to connect phpgroupware to asterisk: when a user click on a phone number, his phone rings and he gets connected to the number he just clicked. I've tried by putting various files in /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing, without results (we are using SIP phones + CAPI channels). Is there a way to do that ? (If it's impossible (something impossible in *, LOL ?!?) I will create

The latest dovecot fixes the problems with most mail clients
.99.10.4 fixes most the issues with kmail. For some reason if I look at an email and then go to another one and then try to go back to one I've already viewed sometimes it shows the mail as an atacment. This version does fix the problem with squrrelmail not being able to subscribe to folders. Thanks for the fixes. --

Is dovecot distributed with RHEL 3.0
I can't seem to find out if dovecot is packaged with RHEL 3.0. It seems redhat makes it hard to find what packages you get when you purchase their RHEL. Does anyone know if dovecot is disributed with Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 3.0? I know dovecot is distribured with redhat 9.0 and fedora. Thanks, -- Avery

I added a "SQ and Dovecot FAQ" on the SQ website
On the Squirrelmail website I setup in the FAQ a quick install guid on how to get squirrelmail to work with Dovecot. Maybe someone can verify my setup procedure really quick. Maybe someone thinks this is wrong. Also if you have something to add please do so. No one has bothered to do this before so I took it upon my self. Here is the link in the FAQ its about 8 lines down

It turns out this all happened because of a brand new network switch. We put
the old one back in out of desperation and, BAM, all the problems went away. There were no other symtoms that pointed at that switch so we didn't suspect it all. Regroup and create new dataframe
Hello folks, I have a big project to work on and the dataset is classified so I am just going to use my own example so everyone can understand what I am targeting. Let's take Target as an example: We consider three brands of tape: Target brand, 3M and Avery. The original data frame has 4 columns: Year of Record, Product_Name(which contains three brands of tape), Sales, and Region. I want to

RE: DHCPd Config or HOW-TO on DNS + DHCP + SQUID +Firewall + Router
I thought I'd share this with you guys:- Been working/testing on the DEV release of SME7a3 based on CenTOS (on VMWARE), see contribs.org. Pretty neat I must say, most daemons (DNS, DCHP, SMB-PDC, LDAP, IMAP, POP, Web Admin) are preconfigured. I've got phpGroupware, WebERP, KnowledgeTree + other running on the same box (VMWARE). I've always had a challenge with manually configuring

SIP and DTMF
Hello, I am fairly new to asterisk. I am currently using asterisk as a more convenient sip side voicemail system. My problem: I have cisco 7960 phones whose out of band dtmf tones are recognized properly(when dtmfmode=rfc2833) by asterisk but whose in-band dtmf tones are recognised poorly(when dtmfmode=inband) . For example 7999 comes out as 799999, 4242 comes out as 442422 ... etc I

using LDAP and PDC together
Hello, I am in the process of migrating to passdb backend = ldapsam on debian unstable with the latest 3.0pre samba package. All users have a ldap sambaAccount object which was added by hand after using migrationtools from padl.com. Testing auth with smbclient works fine, however when using samba as a PDC from WinXP I can't log into the domain as I used to when "passdb backend =

Dovecot for production environment
Sorry if this question has been asked before I looked through some of the archives before posting this. I am considering using dovecot on a small 35 user environment (only around 6 gigs of email) that will be primarly be used with squirrelmail for the MUA. I have been using dovecot for a few weeks now and really like it. It is a big improvement over uw-imap thats for sure. I was wondering how

Debugging nut-hal-drivers/gnome-power-manager
Hi, I'm trying to debug gnome-power-manager, specifically, why it doesn't shutdown the system when it should. Is there a way I can simulate shutdown conditions without actually unplugging my ups and waiting a while? Thanks, Avery

Understanding AllocaInst
Hello, Hopefully this is the correct place for this sort of question. I have been trying to do some simple instrumentation of LLVM IR, and I have been confused by the return type of alloca. When passing an AllocaInst as a parameter to a function call, the parameter type is i32**, which is not what I would expect. Really I would like the address of the allocated memory. What am I missing? And is
