Problems on startup
Hi. When I'm trying to start dovecot, I get following error: Fatal: net_set_nonblock() failed: Operation not supported by device What's that error about? System is FreeBSD 5.1. I think this problem is related to FreeBSD. Dovecot works fine on my Linux-servers. Thanks in advance, Joona -- Joona Kulmala <joona at fiveam.org>

dovecot immediately exits on Fedora 2
I "upgraded" my server running UW-IMAP on Fedora 1, to Fedora 2, which defaults to Dovecot. Unfortunately, the server refuses connecions from my client (Mozilla). It seems that Dovecot immediately exits: ps aux|grep dovecot shows nothing. Also, if I manually start up dovecot, it immediately exits, with no messages. (It does at least parse the config file, since tweaking that gives me

Default domain ?
Hello, I'm in the process of migrating from qpopper to dovecot and I've stumbled upon the least expected thing: In qpopper I can specify a 'default domain', which will be used if an user will only issue his username (not the whole email address) when logging in. Because of this, the users in my main domain don't use the whole email address when getting their mail. I'd

can't see IMAP folders - Fedora Core 2
Recently, I upgraded (switched) to Fedora Core 2. Previously, I was running Fedora Core 1, with Cyrus-IMAP, and life was good. Now, I can not see any of my folders. I suspect it is a simple dovecot.conf configuration edit, but i'm not experienced enough with it to make the correct edits. I am using Postfix with Dovecot. My mail directory is; /home/(user)/mail snip from the conf file;

folders via softlink
I have recently switched from the UW imap server to dovecot and things seem to be working nicely. One thing that I can't seem to figure out however, is how to get dovecot to show folders that are a softlink. We run SpamAssassin. Users can use both their own personal spam folder as well as a shared spam folder. For messages that everyone would consider spam, the user can simply drag the

Monthly billing and payment processor recommendations?
Hi, I''m setting up a site that will bill on a monthly basis. I would rather not have to worry about storing customer credit card information. Does anyone have recommendations on payment processors that offer monthly billing services? I don''t want to go the paypal route as I want the user to stay on the site. I''m hoping to find an API to integrate with. I have

BDC & passwd changes
Hello I have a network setup with one Samba PDC and two Samba BDCs separated by routers (ref http://www.cybersource.com.au/users/mikef/samba/). In this test environment the Samba servers all use the master OpenLDAP server on the PDC, but the production system will have OpenLDAP servers (using master-slave replication) on all Samba servers. I can't get the Windows XP client to change a

My samba can't see its own groups! (4.0.9 as solo AD DC)
My samba thinks its own groups don't exist. Background: I had a samba3 server operating as a NAS with some desktops joined to the domain. I'm migrating it to samba 4.0.9 as an AD domain. Users can log in and browse their home share -- but the other shares aren't working. They're per-project shares set up to allow that project's group access, and to forcibly make all files

vestigial DNS entries
I am running samba 4.2.0 as an AD with internal DNS. I had an earlier version of Samba4 that was running old code and the system had gotten cluttered up from my learning process. I chose to replace it by bringing up a new Samba4 DC, letting them sync, then promote the new, and demote the old. That all worked flawlessly. Eventually I destroyed the old Samba4 system. Today I tried to play

Dualphone "LAN" SIP/DECT phones
G'day. Has anyone here used the Dualphone SIP products (their LAN range) together with Asterisk sufficiently to comment on them? http://dualphone.net/ https://www.dualphone.com.au/product_info.php/products_id/51 I am interested, specifically, in these questions: * are they generally reliable and good quality, especially audio quality? * do they work well with Asterisk for

SIP / RTCP statistics logging
G'day. I am wanting to find out how my SIP service is performing with Asterisk, especially jitter and dropped packets. I can get an overview of that using the 'rtcp stats' function at the console, but is there any way to get those logged to a file or some other permanent record? Nothing in logger.conf seems applicable, save perhaps directing verbose messages somewhere, but it
