A message, when moved by multiple clients with same account and same filters, can be duplicated by filters on destination imap folder.
I'm still collecting user feedback after moving from uw-imap to
dovecot development release 1.1.rc3.
What said in the subject seems the obvious result of an improper configuration.
Office emails are configured and accessed on multiple clients with the
same automatic filters, and sometimes the filtered emails get
duplicated on the destination folder.
The fact is that this was perfectly

Can I stop users from creating and renaming folders?
Hello
I have a Dovecot IMAP account running. It's a shared account between a few
people.
I want to stop users being able to rename existing folders and to stop them
creating new ones.
I've searched for this, so I suspect the answer is no.
Is it possible?
Thanks

IMAP clients generate user home folders one level higher than needed
Hi
(Of course not the clinets generate the folders, dovecot does, but I wanted
to have the title not be too long.)
I am using static userdb:
userdb static {
args = uid=vmail gid=mail home=/srv/vmail/%d/%n
}
and I have configured the hostname in protocol lda.
Now when mail arrives for a known virtual user, the home directory with all
subdirectories is being created correctly unter

multiple user folders showing up
I have set up my samba with winbind and it appears to be working fine. Altered the pam.d/system-auth file and it is creating the user directories. The issue I am running into is that if "biguser" logs in and goes to the server and then logs out of the W2K client and then user "david" logs in on the same client and goes to the server he sees shared directories or appears to

Migrating shared folders from courier-imap to dovecot
Hi,
I'm hoping you'll be able to help. I'm working on a project to migrate our
users from a courier-imap (4.3.0) based mail server to a dovecot (2.0.8)
mail server.
I have got all the users migrated and working. However, I can't see how to
migrate the shared folders from courier-imap. I have tried to find extra
information all the migration information seems to centre around a

IMAP, Shared folders, symlinks and permissions
Greetings
Using FC7, dovecot-1.0.3-6.fc6 and maildir
I have a recurring problem with permissions.
We have a (real) account on the system called "custs". Within the email
account for custs there exists some 300 folders, one for each customer.
This worked okay originally with mbox. Everyone had access to their own
email folders and they all had access to the "custs"

IMAP Dovecot with ISPConfig and shared folders?
Fedora 5, postfix, dovecot, ISPConfig server all
running well, (don't want to break it) LOL. But, I do
not have IMAP shared folders.
These instructions on dovecot tell of how to setup
namespace to be able to get shared folders.
http://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedFolders
But given everything is relative in ISPConfig, not
sure if this is possible or if I could really mess
things up.

Can one user use the same credentials to log into multiple domains, and how do I do it?
First, our current setup.
I'm setting up a Samba 3.4 environment to replace our old Samba 3.0.x setup and make ready for Windows 7. There are several different campus locations, and each has it's own Samba PDC. Due to some (possibly poor) decisions made early in the development of the system, instead of giving each campus its own domain name, we used the algorithmic rid base parameter in

multiple users on LINUX - way to share a single .wine
Basically, I'd like to have just one .wine dir on my file system that multiple users on LINUX can share thus allowing me to keep a single install of my windows apps. The default is to install to /home/CURRENT_USER/.wine so I'm wondering, as long as the LINUX users are in the same group, can I relocate the .wine dir to say, /home/share/.wine and update the wineconfig? I just started using

Can I have share name "shareone" and "share one" at the same time?
Hello Samba community!
I recently found out interesting behavior of share name with Samba and did
not find any useful information on the net. If anyone knows why I'm having
this problem, I would feel like I could fly!
Thanks in Advance.
The problem I have is that I can not get following two shares working at the
same time.
in my smb.conf file,

Multiple IMAP Mailboxes and one collection folder
Hello,
we use many IMAP folders and now we are searching for a way to display
all mails inside this folders in one collecting folder.
The advantage for us would be the possibility to view all new incoming
mails in one folder. It would be possible to use the standard MAIL App
on the iOS without problems.
I could simply make a copy of all mails in one folder with Sieve, but
then the Per-user Seen
