Cannot access a file with Mulberry from a dovecot server if the mail does not end with a newline character.
I use Mulberry 3.1.6 on Windows to read my mails with dovecot 0.99.12
Solaris 9. There are some mail which I cannot read. When I try to open
such a mail, dovecot quits and restarts (I can see that with ps,
nothing is logged). The Mulberry log just looks like this:

Misbehavior with Dovecot and Mulberry
I'm having a bit of misbehavior wherein Dovecot seems to refuse to
cooperate with my Mulberry MUA. By and large, everything works great.
I can move mail back and forth happily. I can compose a note and copy
the outgoing mail to my Dovecot "Sent" folder using my default Mulberry
settings. But if I reply or forward a mail, I get a Mulberry error popup
saying that it

Bug fix - message/rfc822 attachments
Greetings
I've attached a patch that fixes a bug in Dovecot relating to rfc822
attachments. This problem shows up in Mulberry (which hammers the IMAP
protocol more than most!).
The problem is that FETCH BODY[n], where "n" is the number for the
message/rfc822 part, returns the wrong information. It returns the message
without the headers, whereas it should return the entire

lazy_expunge vs mulberry
I've configured the lazy_expunge plugin exactly like it says on the wiki.
I can't seem to configure Mulberry to find the new namespaces. Any hints?
I notice that the wiki says to use / as the separator. Mulberry has a
setting for this, and the default is '.'. Leaving this as '.' in Mulberry
and / in dovecot seems to work fine. (But I still can't access the

I have a client with a somewhat long domain name... myhomelenders.net

Problem: mail moved by thunderbird script is invisible to mail clients, but in cur directory
Over the last year I've had a script moving old mail (120 days) into my
annual archive folder. This is the first year I've done this with Dovecot,
previously it was running against Cyrus.
There's nothing particularly clever: a few conditions to match, then "move
message to" the appropriate archive folder. There's one for every year
from 2000 to 2015. 2015 is just

migrating ldap server from one platform to another
Hi all,
Got a wee problem here that I'm looking for some help with

Two servers, Server 1 one has openldap something running on it and hosts
profiles and users home directories
Server 2 (newer) has all their high capacity directories on it and uses the
ldap server on the
Server 1 is to be phased out.
I downloaded and built openldap 2.2.11 on server 2

Spaces removed from subjects in FETCH response
I'm using SpamAssassin to tag spam and prefix the spam score to the subject
line. To make the scores sort properly in the client's message list, I pad
the score with spaces to right-align it.
It looks like dovecot-0.99.10.9-1.FC3.2 is frustrating this by stripping
the excess spaces from the subject before reporting it in FETCH responses.
Here's an actual subject line:

dsync having problems with @-sign in mailbox names
Hi there
We are running Cyrus-to-Dovecot migrations using dsync on destination Dovecot server (Debian Stretch / latest Dovecot 2.3.7.2 from community repo) like this:
$ doveadm -o mail_fsync=never backup -R -u <username> imapc:
For imapc configuration to connect to remote Cyrus server, see below [1].
While this works great for hundreds of mailaccounts, dsync fails with the following

Using 1.1.2. I'm getting the above message over and over in the error log.
Dovecot drops the connection and the client (Tbird) just keeps retrying in
an endless loop.
Using Wireshark to sniff the exchange, it looks like the command that fails
looks like this:

Dovecot and PHP
Has anyone successfully compiled PHP 5 with the -imap option using Dovecot
server? I get the error:
"Cannot find rfc822.h. Please check your IMAP installation".
It seems that Dovecot has no development libraries so I am stuck? Will I
have to scrap Dovecot and use another server like Cyrus?
Thanks,
Don

migration from cyrus with dsync sieve problem
Hi all
i'm migrating a cyrus imapd server to dovecot with dsync
everyting seems working but sieve rules are not copied to dovecot server
I searched for documentation but without any luck
I use the configuration below with
doveadm -v -o mail_fsync=never backup -R -u emailaddr imapc:
Is sieve supported with dsync? How I can specify sieve server address

Thank you - newhidups (2.03-pre2) works with my APC BackUPS ES 500
Hi there,
I'm one of the maintainers of the SME Server distro (www.contribs.org)
and we've been chasing this one for some time:

Many thanks to Peter Selinger and everyone else who helped with the
debugging and patches.
Thanks,

dsync mirror does not maintain changes between mailboxes
Hi,
running:
dsync -D -v -o mail_fsync=never mirror -R -f -u user at domain imapc:
Where "domain" is a cyrus imap server does not do what the
documentation says it does, not even close.
After the first run to an empty mailbox on the dovecot 2.2.13 server
all the mails (1.1GB) seem to be correctly synced. I send a test email
to the dovecot server and it shows up correctly.
