I can join a domain, but wbinfo -t does not work. I used Mandrake's .src.rpm. I tried the same .src.rpm on a x86 machine and it works. strace's are attached. Any ideas? ...Jeff -------------- next part -------------- execve("/usr/bin/wbinfo", ["wbinfo", "-t"], [/* 38 vars */]) = 0 uname({sys="Linux", node="balsa", ...}) = 0

convert plugin fails - drops root privileges then tries to create file in /
Hi I just tried to run the convert plugin as described at http://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Convert (except with mail_location = maildir:~/Mail) It fails with an error message: Eopen(/.temp.falcon.endbracket.net.18618.8d5e0a038da6cf06) failed: Permission denied Error: imap dump-capability process returned 89 It looks like Dovecot execs /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap, which drops root privileges

CentOS won't shutdown ... or do anything else
I started to have problems similar to ones described in the past on this list but could not find any kind of resolution. I did an lsmod, a mount command, and for fun, did an strace on shutdown to see where it is hanging, and an ltrace as well. Any thoughts? Segmentation Fault when using dig, nslookup, host...
I have setup Centos-3.1 on a Dell Optiplex GX1 this week. It has to replace an old Compaq Deskpro I used as a firewall/router running the no longer supported RedHat 7.1. I have the NAT firewall up and running, and it works OK. However, there is one thing bugging me. I cannot use any client software that queries a nameserver. I tried to use "dig", "host" and

AW: Unable to open configuration file "/etc/smb.conf" (or whereve r i specify)
Hi, it looks like you have something really messed up on your system. The size of the file is 1243 bytes (from strace) but 0 bytes are being read. If you had no permission to read the strace would have looked like this: open("/etc/samba/smb.conf", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied) A quick look at the source code reveals: /etc/samba/smb.conf is opened in file_load

Bug(?) in the example encoder (details re: audio from fifo)
I did a little poking about with the pcm-from-fifo problem I was having... What I'm attempting to do is an on-the-fly export from one file using mplayer to generate yuv4mpeg video frames and pcm audio, piped through fifo's. This DOES work with mpeg2enc/mp2enc, so I'm assuming it's not a problem with, e.g., my filesystem... the example encoder appears to successfully open and

Drac and Dovecot, almost there ...
I have dracd and dovecot up and running and trying to get the two connected. I'm using the FC3 rpms from callimg yum install. I've downloaded the drac patch from http://dovecot.org/patches/drac.c and compiled it with both gcc -Wall -W -shared -fPIC -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I$dovecot -I$dovecot/src/lib drac.c -o drac.so -ldrac and gcc -Wall -W -shared -fPIC -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I$dovecot

dovecot won't launch
Hi, I downloaded the latest dovecot (1.0 alpha 3) and tried numerous installs which get me nothing. No errors, no crashes, no segfaults and no running dovecot. It just seems to silently exit. I was trying to build with mysql support but I've also tried a plain old install, just configure, make install, etc. I get nada. strace doesn't show anything, at least as far as I can tell.

Name Resolution Broken for One Address
I seem to have broken my laptop and have been unable to figure it out. Name resolution works great, except one address, which seems to be resolving to 0.0.0.1. Could you help me figure out what I have done and fix it? The following lines are in /etc/hosts 192.168.11.1 dev.example.com 192.168.11.1 dev1.example.com Pinging any other address that I try works, except dev.example.com.

DNS resolutions is not working in a Solaris 10 DomU
Hi, I found a problem with the DNS resolution in a Solaris 10 DomU. The Test Environment was: I installed the Xen bfu on top of Solaris snv43 and booted the Dom0 with Solaris. Then I installed and booted a Solaris 10 DomU. In the Solaris 10 Dom0 the DNS resolution works; in the Solaris 10 DomU the DNS resolution does not work as expected: Inside the Solaris 10 DomU I can''t use

Back to 3.0.1, Winbind and Solaris 9
I've gone back to 3.0.1 to try and get winbind to work with my Solaris 9 machine and NT4 domain. Everything works except user authentication. The wbinfo and getent commands do what they are supposed to. I've included a truss of 'su - ganguly' According to pamlog, the user 'ganguly' has been granted access but it is still hanging. How do I do a truss of a telnet login?

rsync failure with error 12
I am running rsync over a VPN. The connection has been stable for some time, but recently it has started failing. I am including the strace of the failure below. Basically, the client disconnects typically with an error 12. I have 3 other clients using the same openvpn/rsync configuration, and those are stable, so I am fairly confident this is something on this particular link. The
