Ruby + Apache Lucene using XMLRPC?
Please excuse me if this has been answered before.
Is there a "how-to" guide or a walkthrough on integrating Lucene with ROR via XMLRPC?
I got Ferret to work but I am worried that it''s not going to be as scalable.
I highly appreciate your assistance.
Thanks
Frank

[LLVMdev] Making VMKit2
Hi,
I’m trying to
make VMKit & J3 on Ubuntu. I have followed the instructions at http://vmkit2.gforge.inria.fr/start.php.
But after configuring vmkit2, when I’m making it using make
ENABLE_OPTIMIZED=1, I receive the following:
1) With this configuration:
ela at ela-VirtualBox:~/Desktop/vmkit2$
./configure --with-llvmsrc=/home/ela/Desktop/llvm/
--with-llvmobj=/home/ela/Desktop/llvm/

[LLVMdev] Making VMKit2
Hi Nicolas,
I am so sorry for the questions. According to you, I built VMKit2 on Ubuntu11.10-desktop-amd64 on Intel(R) Corei5, and the previous problem solved. But another one appeared! With the following configuration:
elaheh at elaheh-Lenovo-G470:~/Desktop/vmkit2$ ./configure --with-llvmsrc=/home/elaheh/Desktop/llvm/ --with-llvmobj=/home/elaheh/Desktop/llvm/

[PATCH] build: add simple custom silent rules for automake
Add makefile variables to enable silent rules for simple command
invocations, such as ocamlc, ocamlopt, javac, and erlc.
This reduces the log output when building with silent rules, still
showing the full command lines otherwise.

problem with bindings configure script
Olly,
I think the confdefs.h issue was due to the fact that I was using
XAPIAN_CONFIG to point to the configure script, rather than the
xapian_config executable created when making xapian_core, as pointed out by
James.
Also, as a general note, when trying to make the bindings, I had a problem
when make was trying to compile the java source in org/xapian
The following line:

satisfying netdirector package dependencies
Hello,
we're looking at packaging up our current NetDirector bug fix release
and we want it available as .rpm
at this moment, the maintainers don't have a test environment for Centos
does anyone know whether the latest versions of and Centos can satisfy
Tomcat 5 and Java 1.4 JDK as dependencies?
thanks in advance!

[LLVMdev] VMKIT: Assertion at build
Still the same.
Is there any chance that the placement of my directories are causing this?
Also the exact command that fails is

100% CPU when running (cran2deb) JGR on Debian
Dear all,
I installed the amd64 cran2deb [1] JGR binaries on a fresh Debian
testing, and JGR is missbehaving. When JGR starts up, one core of the
CPU goes to 100% and stays there, even though I am keeping it idle and
not performing any operation.
I tried JGR with both sun-java6-jdk and openjdk-6-jdk,
debian-liv:/home/liviu# update-alternatives --config java
There are 4 choices for the alternative

It is compiled by javac to produce Java bytecode. Then vmkit runs the
initialization code of MMTk (through the JIT) and generates the binary code
through llvm.

[LLVMdev] vmkit segmentation fault revision 107990
Hi Nicolas,
I found a 32bit Lucid machine (but it'd be great if there was a working
64bit
version though). Everything was checked out this morning.
I now am able to build vmkit with this configuration:
./configure --with-llvmsrc=/home/zoewolk/RESEARCH/llvm
--with-llvmobj=/home/zoewolk/RESEARCH/llvm
--with-gnu-classpath-glibj=/home/zoewolk/RESEARCH/classpath-0.97.2/lib

[LLVMdev] Issues with HelloWorld on VMKit
HI I tried to follow the procedure at http://vmkit.llvm.org/get_started.html
.
Builds of LLVM and classpath went fine (after fixing a few dependency
problems).
After compiling a simple HelloWorld with javac I got
../vmkit/Debug/bin/jnjvm HelloWorld
hang for a while and then spits out a
terminate called without an active exception
Abort
I also tried to compile on a machine with gcc 4.1 and

[LLVMdev] A bunch of errors while installing VMKit and compiling LLVM
Hi, Nicolas
Indeed, I did not have ant installed and installing it allowed me to
overcome the previous error. However the next one appeared. I have ran make

it)

[LLVMdev] vmkit installation - classpath configure
Dear All
Here is another question. I'm trying now t install vmkit. According to this
http://vmkit.llvm.org/index.html
I have to install classpath. But in trying to configure it, I get the following error:
configure: error: GTK+ peers requested but no X library available
googling, I found that I can use --disable-gtk-peer --disable-gconf-peer to come over this error.
Then, I got this error

OT - Tomcat CLASSPATH issue
if this is ignored then fair enough as its not really the place for it
but if anyone has seen this it would be good to know
tomcat is 6.0.18
CLASSPATH is set in /etc/sysconfig/<appname> and this IS getting used as
_some_ configuration items are being picked up from /etc/<appname> but
the issue is when default setting from within the webapp are not being
overwritten by settings in

[LLVMdev] VMKit is retired (but you can help if you want!)
Hello again Gaël, (et al)
More on rekindling work on VMKit! Thank you for your interactions thus far on- and off-list.
As you suggested in your VMKit-retirement email (to which I'm attempting to respond), I'm interested in producing a Java-to-LLVM compiler out of VMKit. I'd like to take you up on your offer to help understand the architecture. If I can get the a Java-to-LLVM
