don't use centos 7 as a developer workstation
Hi,
May be it's not clear to everyone.. so this's just a quick notice to
everyone.
Don't use CentOS 7 as a developer workstation since currently there is
not included any developer IDE. As eclipse was pulled out from the main
distro and put into Red Hat Developer Toolset (which is imho a good idea
not to use a 7 years old IDE). But Red Hat Developer Toolset is still
not supported on

ldap support
hi,
it seem to me that dovecot support only v2 ldap protocol but openldap2.1
support only v3 (or you can enable v2 in the conf file, but it seems
they wouldn't like to support it in the future). will dovecot support v3
ldap protocal?
thanks.

kvm packages update
hi,
i update all of my kvm related packages for centos-5 in:
http://www.lfarkas.org/linux/packages/centos/5/x86_64/virt/
http://www.lfarkas.org/linux/packages/centos/5/i386/virt/
the changes i follow fedora package naming so there is no kvm packages
but qemu (which is actually qemu-kvm) and i switch both with the kmod
and qemu package to the stable branch (although the old kvm-xx and
kmod-kvm-xx

virt-manager i see 50% load on the guest. the biggest problem currently
i can't find any way to

samba in centosplus
hi,
it'd be useful to include the latest stable samba packages in the
centosplus, since samba.org do not build binaries for rhel just for old
redhat and fedora releases.

network raid file system/server
hi,
we've a few 10-20 server in a lan each has 4-8 hdd. we'd like to create
one big file server on these server hard disks and we'd like to create
it in a redundant way ie:
- if one (or more) of the hdd or server fails the whole filesystem still
usable and consistent.
- any server in this farm can see the same storage/filesystem.
it's someting a big network raid5-6... storage where

dovecot.spec
hi,
I'm just recoginze that dovecot contains an rpm spec file. unfortunately
it's not too useful since an
rpm -ta dovecot-.x.y.tar.gz
can't be used since just the dovecot.spec.in is in the tarbar and not
the actual spec file (which is in this from not useful in the above
form). anyway here is my patch to the spec.in.

kvm and related packages
hi,
as 5.4 was released and it's include support for kvm (what's more it's
working for us since a few days) i plan to remove all of my packages
form my repos as centos 5.4 will be released:
http://www.lfarkas.org/linux/packages/centos/5/*/virt/
there are few trick although eg in the xml conf files you have to
replace /usr/bin/qemu-kvm to /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm. and it's better

a few more notes
hi,
while all files is owned by nsd user and nsd run as nsd the nsd.db is
still owned by root user (because the compiler run as root and create
this file as root, ok i know just it'd be better if this file is owned
by nsd too).
another strange thing is that on the slave nsd i've got such messages:
