Squirrelmail and Dovecot folder namespace
I am currently using Squirrelmail and Dovecot with this setting:
default_mail_env = mbox:%h/mail/:INBOX=%h/mail/INBOX
It works well, however folder subscriptions in Squirrelmail annoyingly
end up with "./" prefixes because Squirrelmail refuses to work without
overriding the folder namespace. All of my other IMAP clients work fine
without setting that option.

dovecot IMAP misserving problem?
http://togami.com/~warren/archive/2003/evolution-1.4.4-crash.mbox
I suspect that dovecot-0.99.10 is misserving this message in some way
that is confusing some IMAP clients. This behavior causes
evolution-1.4.4 to segfault, and squirrelmail-1.4.1 to be unable to read
the message. The same message served by uw-imapd works works fine in
both evolution and squirrelmail.

squirrelmail doesn't display share
Hello list,
I have dovecot 2.0.11 installed on a client's server and Squirrelmail as
the webmail client. I created the share below in dovecot.conf and it
appears in Thunderbird and Outlook but not in Squirrelmail.
What setting do I need to adjust in order for the share to appear in
squirrelmail?
Below are dumps of /etc/dovecot.conf and /etc/squirrelmail/local_config.conf

Postfix locking equivalence?
/etc/postfix/main.cf.default:
mailbox_delivery_lock = flock, dotlock
Is flock equivalent to dovecot's fnctl locking? For mbox what type of
locking settings should I be using? (No NFS, only local filesystem.)

dovecot RPM for Red Hat Linux
http://bugzilla.fedora.us/show_bug.cgi?id=160
This .src.rpm is dovecot with RH-specific default settings. I modified
Jeremy Katz' dovecot-0.99.8.1 package a bit. When I upgraded from
0.99.8.1 it seemed to be broken until I looked at /var/log/maillog.
There it indicated that the dovecot cache files were bad, so I erased
/home/*/mail/.imap/ and it seemed to work subsequently.
There are a

Fedora dovecot Testing Needed
http://people.redhat.com/wtogami/temp/dovecot/
dovecot-0.99.10.5 binary packages for FC1 and FC2 are available here. I
need feedback from Fedora users with THESE ACTUAL BINARIES before
pushing them to official updates.
Note:
This does not solve the SSL related crash issue. That requires a patch
to OpenSSL or kernel. I am still trying to convince the maintainers to
patch it.

Squirrelmail + Dovecot + Maildir
I have been struggling with getting my Fedora 7 box set up to use
dovecot with Squirrelmail and Maildir. It works correctly with the exception of writing outgoing mail to the right folder (.Sent) or drafts (.Drafts). If I send a mail with Mutt, it writes the mail to the right place, so it has to be squirrelmail config or dovecot config. I want to use .Sent for sent-mail
(~user/Maildir/.Sent) and

prefix behavior with Dovecot / Squirrelmail
Old: Dovecot 1.1.18 + Squirrelmail 1.4.8 + Imapproxy
New: Dovecot 2.2.10 + Squirrelmail 1.4.22 (no Imapproxy)
In both, we have:

separator = .
prefix = Mail.
inbox = yes

(The 'Mail' prefix is set this way for compatibility reasons)

$default_folder_prefix = 'Mail.';

Quota's with Thunderbird
Hi,
Does anyone know how to get Thunderbird to correctly report the mailbox
quota's? I know Dovecot is correctly enforcing the quotas on the mailbox
when using Thunderbird, but Thunderbird reports that the "server does
not support quota's" when trying to view the usage? Is Thunderbird
expecting something different?
Viewing the mailbox through Squirelmail, the quota's are

Message size incorrect?
Hi there,
I recently installed a plugin for SquirelMail (php imap client,
squirrelmail.org) which adds up message sizes per folder to display a nice
total size of each subscribed folder. After consulting the plugin
maintainers at SquirrelMail in this thread:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.mail.squirrelmail.plugins/12468/focus=12468
There is quite a discrepancy in the rfc822.size reported by

Migrating from UW IMAP - pine - Thunderbird - squirrelmail
Hello!
In this email you can find a configuration primer for a Migration from UW
IMAP with pine, Thunderbird and squirrelmail as client. For compatibility
the mbox format is used.
A description for pine with imap acces without entering any password is
also discussed. Please use dovecot 1.0beta1 or later for correct handling
with pine.

FreeBSD 6 - DirectAdmin - dovecot
Since version 1.0 I experience strange problems with dovecot. At the
moment I have beta 7 installed. I use FreeBSD 6.0.
* Pop3 works
* Imap works, but only when i telnet to localhost
* In all other cases I can't connect to the server. Tried with
squirrelmail, uebimau and thunderbird. Squirrelmail after a long time
waiting: "ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server."

Postfix mail server procedure
CentOS Community,
I was wondering if anyone had a good resource or procedure for a step by
step in installing a mail server with Centos. There ARE documents on
google, however almost all that i've found were outdated from 2005. Does
anyone know where I can find this type of document for a mailserver
Postfix + MySQL + SpamAssassin + ClamAV + Squirrelmail + Postfixadmin, etc?
