Shaping incoming traffic?
I would like to differentiate incoming traffic streams to guarantee minimum bandwidth to some services. However, as per the Adv-Routing-HOWTO it appears that only outgoing traffic can be shaped. Is this correct or is there a way of shaping incoming traffic? The problem could possibly be overcome if there is a way of routing traffic through a virtual host. Any tips on how to go about that? --

Messages not expunged
Hi all, I'm doing some testing between U of Washington IMAP server (which we currently run) and Dovecot on a IBM AIX system. I created a 50M mailbox, made up of 262 msgs. I'm using a Perl Script with the imap::client module to fetch each message and then flag it for deletion. At the end of the test, I run an expunge to delete all the messages. UofW imap server ran fine, messages

Error "make install" of dovecot 1.0b3
I just downloaded dovecot 1.0b3 and running "make install" gives me an error This seems like a fairly simple bug in the Makefile ... but I'm not sure if maybe its a symptom of something more complex. I've tried "make uninstall" , "make install" and removing the entire /usr/local/lib/dovecot tree and same thing. dovecot does run ... but for other reasons

Patch to src/auth/mech-gssapi.c
This bug causes a segfault when compiled against heimdal, but not MIT krb5. Either way, I think this code is correct. Lohan the observable
Sorry, that name is a misnomer. However, I was excited to find that Ruby has a built in Observable module and I''m pretty bored, so I apologize in advance.... require ''observer'' # one who is observed class Celebrity include Observable attr_accessor :name attr_reader :is def is=(val) @is = val changed notify_observers(self) end end # one who

Sub addressing delimiters
Hello, There is a disconnect between the way Postfix handles recipient_delimiter and the way Dovecot handles it. For Postfix, it is a set of delimiters that can each individually be used to separate the address from the . In Dovecot, having multiple characters in recipient_delimiters simply makes it a multi-character single delimiter. For my purposes, the Postfix method is much more

String manipulation, insert delim
Hello All, I've been using R for two years now and I am happy to say this is the first time I could not find the answer to my problem in the R-help archives. Here is the pending problem: I want to be able to insert delimiters, say commas, into a string of characters at uneven intervals such that: foo<-c("haveaniceday")#my string of character bar<-c(4,1,4,3) # my vector of

Parsing data with an uneven number of delimiters
I have a list of data that is delimited by a / and, as long as there is an equal number of delimiters, I can parse the data and put it into a data frame: > t1<-c("a/a/a","b/bb/bbb","ccc/cc/c") > t2<-strsplit(t1,"/") > t3<-data.frame(t2) > t3 c..a....a....a.. c..b....bb....bbb.. c..ccc....cc....c.. 1 a

Multiple recipient delimiter support?
Trying to find out if dovecot supports the use of multiple recipient delimiters, as postfix does, but can't find an answer... The wiki only mentions it in two meaningful places (that I can find)... With respect to postfix: /wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Postfix The above seems to imply that for postfix/LDA all I need to do is define it in postfix (which supports multiple recipient delimiters). And

extracting data using strings as delimiters
Dear List, I have an ascii text file with data I'd like to extract. Example: Year Built: 1873 Gross Building Area: 578 sq ft Total Rooms: 6 Living Area: 578 sq ft There is a lot of data I'd like to ignore in each record, so I'm hoping there is a way to use strings as delimiters to get the data I want (e.g. tell R to take data between "Built:" and "Gross" -

recipient delimiters
Since many broken websites and idiot companies will not allow a ?+? in an email address, I have long used two delimiters in postfix: recipient_delimiter = +_ However, now that dovecot is handling verification for postfix via reject_unverified_recipient, dovecot complains about any address using an _ as a delimiter. I don?t see a way to tell dovecot what delimiters to use, and it appears it is

recipient_delimiter -- feature request
Hi, It would be nice if the recipient_delimiter configuration option supported multiple recipient delimiters as Postfix now does. e.g. now if I set: recipient_delimiter = +- in Postfix, then test-extension at sample.com and test+extension at sample.com are both recognized. But if I set: recipient_delimiter = +- in Dovecot, neither of the above are recognized and instead test+-extension at

Corrupt mbox folders after migration from uw-imap
After migrating our mail server from uw-imap to dovecot at the weekend we've had a few corrupted mbox folders. I assume this is due to messages with bad Content-length headers. Is there any way of checking the Content-length of messages in mbox folders? Thanks -- Ian

Recipient delimiters, deliver and SQL databases
Hi! As a new user, I'm trying to set up a postfix + dovecot combination, and so far all is running smoothly. I'm using the guidelines that came with postfix and adjusting them as I go. My user and alias database is stored in MySQL, using the scheme from 'PostfixAdmin' (http://high5.net/page9.html) and I am using the dovecot LDA 'deliver' to drop messages into mailboxes

corrupt mbox, mailboxes not found, and message read status
I'm running dovecot 0.99.10-0.rc2 deb packages for Debian Woody from braincells.com. My old environment was a server running UW-IMAP for IMAP and POP services. We are still using mbox for all mailboxes. I use IMP for web based access. Forgive me if these issues have already been discussed or fixed in cvs. Any additional pointers to this info. would be appreciated. I have noticed a
