dovecot mbox to dovecot maildir migration
Hi, I'm migrating accounts from one server with dovecot mbox and pam nss-ldap authentication to a new server with dovecot maildir and mysql auth (no posix accounts). My problem is the pop3 uidl format on the two servers are different, even though I'm using pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv in both configs, I'm always re-downloading left messages on my test runs. Is there a way I could

DTMF tones not long enough
Hi, My system is like this currently: ATA-186 <-> *1 <-> IAX2 to Europe <-> *2 <-> i4l <-> voicemail at cell provider When I dial up to my voicemail at my European cell phone provider I can't press '#' to get into their menu. It seems like it just ignores any DTMF tones or doesn't get them. When I call a human on the other side of the i4l they

MBOX to Maildir preserving the UIDL (outlook-tested, no redownloading)
TESTED AND RUNNING, MIGRATING from MBOX to MAILDIR, PRESERVE UID and OUTLOOK sees the email as downloaded. I hope this helps a lot of people out there. Feel free to post this somewhere else too. By: Horn Wijaya (hwijaya at nodens.biz) 8th May 2008 I have been searching for weeks for a foolproof method to migrate all my users mbox to maildir/dovecot without having the pain of downloading

Hidden voicemail feature - send message to pager
Hi, Browsing app_voicemail.c for something else I noticed that you can add a pager email address to the voicemail box configuration like 1000 => 1234,Ask Bjoern Hansen,ask@develooper.com, 1235551234@example.com to get a short notice about the new voicemail sent to 1235551234@example.com. Very neat. Feature request: It would be mighty cool to get the voicemails stored as mp3s; at least

Dovecot mbox & other programs
Hello, I want to use dovecot as imap server with mbox storage format (described at [1]) but I also want to access (and modify!) those mbox files which are stored on server (and used by dovecot). What is correct way to read those mboxes? From wiki page [1] I read that I should ignore first message in mbox (which contains X-IMAPbase header) and mbox file is in mboxcl2 format. And what is

Problems with POP3 UIDL when migrating from MBOX to Maildir
Hello, I am in the process of migrating a hosting setup from UW-IMAP to Dovecot. The protocols available to mail clients are IMAP and POP3 both before and after migration. I also wanted to change the mail storage format from MBOX to Maildir. However, at this point I hit a major snag with Dovecot and POP3 UIDL (unique identification listing for POP3 mailboxes). Several of the customers connecting

mbox separators ignored
Using dovecot-0.99.13-4.FC2 I grabbed a bunch of Mailman archive files from the Weather mailing list here: <http://www.buoy.com/pipermail/weather/> I gunzipped the older ones, then concatenated them all in correct order to create one big mbox file. I dropped it into my ~/mail folder and started my IMAP client (Mulberry) and opened the new Weather folder. It shows one gargantuan

pop3 uidl when migrating from mbox to maildir
Thank you for the reply of my previous post (http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2007-March/020716.html) now it works, but I have another question about migrating pop3 account (with leave mail on server) to maildir. On this post -> http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2006-February/011464.html you explain how to create dovecot-uidlist preserving UIDVALIDITY. Is there someone that have

0.99.4 uploaded to Debian
Hi, I'm the Debian maintainer of UW-Imap. Like many I'm somewhat frustrated with the limitations of it so I am very pleased to see that Dovecot is becoming a strong alternative. I have uploaded packages of 0.99.4 to the Debian unstable distribution (sid). Because this is a new package it has to be added by hand so it may be a while before it shows up in sid. In the mean time, I have

debian 0.99.8.1 packages available
I thought I'd mention it here because a lot of people have been waiting for me on this. My personal situation is getting saner now so I finally was able to package up 0.99.8.1. The package for sid was uploaded last night and should appear in the archive today. A backport for woody is available from http://www.braincells.com/open/ I have not included POP3, LDAP or SASL2 support for now as I

Fwd: Weird problem opening mbox in beta1/2
Hmm, this is peculiar! This mailbox has been unchanged on my test server since September. I've been using it to test each new version of Dovecot just after I've compiled it. When beta1 was released, I opened this mbox with no problems. However, when I upgraded to beta2, I got "file size unexpectedly shrinked in mbox file /export/mail/a/24/vis99003/INBOX (16895967 vs 16899267)".

About the dovecot package (fwd)
Dear Timo, What do you think of this? Fyi, I've been getting the same thing lately and I'm wondering if gnutls is to blame? (i've had inexlicable SIGSEGVs in other apps before due to it.) Tomorrow I'll try with openssl but I was wondering if you had any other ideas? -- Jaldhar H. Vyas <jaldhar at debian.org> La Salle Debain - http://www.braincells.com/debian/

1.0alpha4 uploaded to Debian unstable
I finally got some free time and uploaded 1.0alpha4. It will arrive in the archive by tomorrow afternoon. Together with the most recent libssl0.9.8 upgrade I think this will fix the SSL problems users have been facing. -- Jaldhar H.
