dovecot imap logging capabilities
Hello,
I have searched but have not found any information on logging imap
actions. I want to log when someone uses imap to delete, move, copy, etc.
This would greatly help me when someone deletes an email and asks where it
went. I get this fairly often from a few users. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Thank you,
Michael A. Painter Jr.

How do I make dovecot not use sslv2 for pop?
From nmap:
995/tcp open ssl/pop3 Dovecot pop3d
|_ sslv2: server still supports SSLv2
|_ pop3-capabilities: USER CAPA UIDL PIPELINING RESP-CODES TOP
SASL(PLAIN LOGIN)
pop3 allows SSLv2, imap doesn't. In my dovecot.conf I have:
ssl_cipher_list = ALL:!LOW:!SSLv2
at the global level. Do I need to put it inside the protocol pop3{}
section?

imaptest-20130617 seems to be reporting spurious header changes
I'm trying to use this to test an IMAP server I'm developing (I picked
the nightly up from the link on the wiki page at

the mailbox dovecot-crlf (http://www.dovecot.org/tmp/dovecot-crlf) I get

Are there some known problems related to ctime changing by itself? I
didn't find anything with google at least. tar seems to be complaining
about it all the time:

Virtual mailboxes do not look into subfolders
Hi all,
I have virtual mailboxes set up as "Smart Folders" to show me messages
tagged with certain keywords. For example:
# ~/Maildir-virtual/fwp/dovecot-virtual
File
MailingLists/*
KEYWORD @fwp
Messages get picked up from the File mailbox, but not for the sub-mailboxes
inside the MailingLists mailbox. What am I doing wrong? Wrong separator?
And how can I debug this?

Error copying >1 message to virtual mailbox
I created a virtual mailbox which maps to a single physical mailbox (in
Dovecot 1.x I did this with a symlink but had intermittent problems with
Dovecot 2.0 doing the same.)
However, I can only copy one message at a time into the mailbox. If I
try to copy more, I get:
7.16 UID COPY 48531:48532 !/Saved
7.16 NO [CANNOT] Can't save messages to this virtual mailbox
whereas this works fine:

mail_log_events seem to be broken in HG 2.2
It seems along the way of 2.2alpha1 'mail_log_events' quietly stopped working. They don't log expunges etc. anymore.
[?]
mail_log_events = expunge mailbox_delete
Tested with latest HG.

LDAP Memory Leak
Hi Timo
I use LDAP auth on a system with around 2000 email account. I use dual
OpenLDAP servers.
I haven't noticed a leak of memory. Is there any more information and I
will have a look to see if I can see anything that might help. Is it only
affecting certain machines or all?

Darwin Build (cvs)
Oops, I apologize for my short, breif message that didn't even include
what I said it should inlcude =).
Here's the deal: OpenDarwin 6.6 (closest relative being Mac OS X
10.2.6) won't build from CVS. Specifically libtoolize doesn't seem to
exist (does it even come with libtool?) and the other parts of the
"autogen.sh" fail miserably.

Updated v1.1 and summer plans
Webmail.us will be sponsoring my Dovecot development for this summer.
Other companies are also welcome to participate in the costs.
Participation gets you:
- listed in Credits in www.dovecot.org
- listed in AUTHORS file
- you can tell me how you want to use the feature and I'll make sure
that it supports it (within reasonable limits)

Wrong headers in dovecot-crlf
Hello everyone,
I'm using the very good imaptest [0] tool to test my little imap server
implementation. I've tried to use the dovecot-crlf [1] file, but it looks like
there are some major issues :

Some experiences
Heyas ...
I'm trying to use dovecot to set up a 'closed server' (actually, mixed) sort of environment, for a box to be deployed co-located. I wanted to talk about some of that, and see if some of my experience qualifies as 'bug'.
Note that I'm notoriously verbose, so if that bothers you, read no further ....
Since it's a more-or-less closed server, I didn't want

How are you verifying? Have you tried using top and looking for smbd and
nmbd? Swat may be giving you erroneous info if that is what you are using to
verify. Hope this helps...

changing INTERNALDATE or similar
I have a question which others must have encountered. I switched from
uw-imap to dovecot-imap a few months ago and moved my fairly large mail
archive (~15 yrs) by simply mounting both accounts in a mail app and
simply copying my folders over. This worked well, and all my mail is in
order when I view it in evolution or thunderbird on any number of
machines. However, since our company uses MS
