Assert in imap-bodystructure.c
First let me thank you for my initial newby question about poping from a pop3 server and delivering into my Dovecot maildir folders. Now I'm getting an assertion in imap-bodystructure.c and one of my imap folders is now inaccessable. I think the two are related. Whenever I select the folder from my email client (kmail) I get two log entries in the dovecot log of the format:

Issue with parsing of forwarded messages with attachments and quotes in the subject
Hi all, at work we use Roundcube acting as a mail client for the Dovecot Imap server. In Roundube the messages are parsed through the Imap BODYSTRUCTURE command If a message contains forwarded messages and attachments and some of the messages contains a quote (") in the subject, then the resulting BODYSTRUCTURE appears to be malformed. --- After some digging through the code of

Bug#287184: logcheck overwriting ownership/permissions of /etc/logcheck/* on upgrades
Package: logcheck Version: 1.2.32 Severity: important In postinst logcheck "fixes" permissions of /etc/logcheck/* to 750. In my (and others on #d-d) opinion ownership and permissions should be preserved upon package upgrades. Logcheck must not screw with my decision to make them world readable every time it configures. -- Peter

Purging /var/mail/username ?
Dovecot is delivering mail to my ~/.mail directory wonderfully. But /var/mail/michael is growing steadily. Is it the job of Dovecot to purge this file regularly? Is there a setting somewhere for this? Thanks, Michael

Dovecot v2.3.14.1 released
Hi, This is an "important fixes only" release in case you don't want to upgrade to v2.3.15. problems with winCVS
hi everybody, we have problems using wincvs with a cvsroot on a samba-server. we think that the problem is the renaming of files where the cvs user does not have write-permisson on: this is our configuration: fileserver on a irix6.5 running samba 1.9.18p8 having a share on / named 'coder'. win95 box, running wincvs, setting cvsroot something like

Unbootable machine
Hello Peter & Jeremy, I've found an ordinary desktop PC (with Phoenix Award BIOS 6.00PG) that won't boot off a USB stick created by livecd-tools-024 with syslinux (tested both versions 3.75 and 3.81). The boot process drops to the "boot:" prompt with an error message: could not find kernel image: linux The same USB stick boots fine on any other computer I could find.

Dovecot/IMP Bug with RFC822.SIZE and BODYSTRUCTURE
Ok, I have narrowed my IMP/Dovecot attachment problem down to what I think is a bug in Dovecot. The test that follow are performed on 0.99.11. When you download an attachment in IMP it uses the php function imap_fetchbody() which contacts the IMAP server and retrieves just the mime chunk you are looking for. It does this by first fetching some information about the email, and then grabs the

SMTP options
I realize this is not an SMTP discussion list, but... here goes: This is my situation. We have mobile users that need a secure (SSL) SMTP+auth gateway that simply forwards rfc822's to our real MTA. All it would have to do is accept SSL connections, authenticate the user, accept his message, then send that to the MTA. Anybody know of a very minimal software package that can do this? --

dovecot IMAP misserving problem?
http://togami.com/~warren/archive/2003/evolution-1.4.4-crash.mbox I suspect that dovecot-0.99.10 is misserving this message in some way that is confusing some IMAP clients. This behavior causes evolution-1.4.4 to segfault, and squirrelmail-1.4.1 to be unable to read the message. The same message served by uw-imapd works works fine in both evolution and squirrelmail.
