Non-dovecot user looking for feedback
I've been using UW-IMAPd for neigh on forever (at least since 2001). But, as it's basically stalled, and I'm about to update the hardware that is my mail server, I thought it was time to review existing open-source IMAP servers. Dovecot is the top three in my looking.
The other of the top three candidates, because I know of people who've used it, is Cyrus IMAP. So, I should

can't read attachments using javamail with dovecot
Dear folks,
this might be a java-bug, but it seems to occur only when connecting to
dovecot-IMAP.
UW and Cyrus-ditto works, while when I try to read attachments (base64),
I get slapped in the face with this:

Cyrus IMAP crashes after reading /etc/krb5.conf
Hello!
I'm trying to configure a freshly built mail/cyrus-imapd22 to work and
authenticate accounts -- Kerberos and plain text.
The GSSAPI authentication works already. After doing kinit, I can do ``imtest
-m GSSAPI hostname'' and it succeeds.
Now I'm trying to login with plain text (over SSL). Cyrus' imapd keeps
crashing from SIGBUS. According to ktrace, this happens

Cyrus-imapd update from 2.2.12 to 2.3.16
We are trying to move our mail store from a host running cyrus-imapd
2.2.12 under CentOS-4 to one running 2.3.16 under CentOS-6. The
current host is a 32 bit architecture. The new host is 64 bit. We have
followed the update guide found at:
http://www.cyrusimap.org/docs/cyrus-imapd/2.3.16/install-upgrade.php
The steps we followed were:
1. Install cyrus-imapd et al on the new host.

Imap daemons for CentOS 6 (other then cyrus-imapd)
Are there any imap daemons (besides cyrus-imapd). cyrus-imapd is appearently
not compatible with postfix + procmail. I need an imap daemon that will work
with a postfix + procmail system.

imap flags on uw-imap
I am talking with a client about moving from CentOS 3.7 to CentOS 4.x
and migrating their uw-imap to cyrus-imapd but in the process, would
want to do a clean install. This is problematic in that if I want to
preserve the IMAP flags for all the users INBOX and other mail folders,
I would have to move them to another computer and then use something
like imapsync (which I've used before) to copy

Cyrus 2.4 and Centos6
Hi Folks,
I'd like to install cyrus-imapd 2.4 in CentOS6.
Found rpm cyrus 2.4 for CentOS6 on rpmseek.
cyrus-imapd-2.4.17-30.1.x86_64.rpm
But there are conflicts with postfix 2.6.6.
Can I ignore this conflicts or is there a suitable version of ppstfix
available?
Thx

Bug#442244: logcheck-database: should include the filters from cyrus-imapd-2.2
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.54
Severity: normal
The included filters for cyrus (/etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/cyrus) are very minimal. The cyrus-imapd-2.2 has a more
extensive ruleset (there's a /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/cyrus2_2 file in that package).
Please copy over the filters from cyrus-imapd-2.2. I'm running logcheck on a loghost, which doesn't run cyrus

CentOS-6 - LogWatch
The Logwatch imapd service script distributed with CentOS-6 does not
generate anything when I run logwatch --service all on a cyrus-imapd
host. Is this expected behaviour? Is there a separate script for
cyrus-imapd or are their configuration options required to get the
existing script to work.
I have found an ancient (2004) logwatch service script for cyrus-imapd
but I was sort of hoping that

migrating from cyrus
Hi all,
I want to migrate our customers mailserver (400 mail accounts), from
cyrus-2.0.16 to Dovecot. Anyone an idea how I can preserve the read/unread
status and what can I do with the UIDL? (cyrus used a different algorithm for
UIDL).
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,

cyrus-imapd, sendmail and delivering plus address formats
CentOS-4.8
cyrus-imapd-2.2.12-10
sendmail-8.13.1-3.3
I have a mail hub which uses cyrus-imap with sendmail It has worked
well for us on this and prior hosts going back to 1995. And, I do
not have a problem with the current setup.
What I would like to do however, is to deliver plus-formatted e-mail
addresses directly to users subfolders in their mailbox tree. Such
addresses take the form

conditions for the db4/nptl bug?
Hi *,
i run several CentOS4 systems as xen3 domU, and all of them suffer from
the well-known-to-this-list db4/nptl bug:
<https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=91933>
so that i needed to rebuild db4 to make cyrus-imapd work. But a member
of the centos devel ML reported that he has no problem at all running
cyrus-imapd. Our setups are almost identical (dom0=FC6,
