0.99.10.1 released
Since release candidate I added fix for CRLF + partial BODY[] fetching.
I hope everything works :) I've been running it with mbox for a while
and it seems to work fine.

Dovecot/IMP Bug with RFC822.SIZE and BODYSTRUCTURE
Ok, I have narrowed my IMP/Dovecot attachment problem down to what I
think is a bug in Dovecot. The test that follow are performed on
0.99.11.
When you download an attachment in IMP it uses the php function
imap_fetchbody() which contacts the IMAP server and retrieves just the
mime chunk you are looking for.
It does this by first fetching some information about the email, and
then grabs the

* This release includes a lot of code cleanups, especially related to
security. Direct buffer modifying was replaced in several places
with a new buffer API, which provides a safe way to do it. Code that
looks unsafe contains @UNSAFE tag to make auditing easier.

RFC 3501 violation in FETCH BODY responses
Hi there,
Quoting RFC 3501 sec. 7.4.2 ?FETCH Response? (data item BODYSTRUCTURE):
?A body type of type MESSAGE and subtype RFC822 contains,
immediately after the basic fields, the envelope structure, body
structure, and size in text lines of the encapsulated message.?
According the ABNF (RFC 3501 sec. 9) the envelope structure is that of
the ENVELOPE FETCH data item, and the

0.99.12 released
One change since -rc1 (the last one below).
- Fix memory leaks in LDAP, MySQL and PGSQL userdb/passdb
- Fix hanging when parsing mails that have over 4096 bytes in one
line (SMTP servers normally don't allow over 1000 bytes so it
shouldn't be much of a problem)
- FETCH BODYSTRUCTURE sometimes gave a wrong reply
(eg. with FETCH (BODYSTRUCTURE RFC822.SIZE) if it wasn't

Spaces removed from subjects in FETCH response
I'm using SpamAssassin to tag spam and prefix the spam score to the subject
line. To make the scores sort properly in the client's message list, I pad
the score with spaces to right-align it.
It looks like dovecot-0.99.10.9-1.FC3.2 is frustrating this by stripping
the excess spaces from the subject before reporting it in FETCH responses.
Here's an actual subject line:

Well, "release candidate" wasn't really right name for last two
versions. Maybe not for this one either, it has a few changes that could
potentially break things badly (new hash table code especially). Anyway,
seems to work with me. If I don't see any problems with it for a few
days it'll be the final.
The really great news is that we support threading. A lot of people have

Dovecot 1.0-test77 endless loop hang
Client: Bynari Insight Connector 3.0.5. (http://www.bynari.net/)
This is an IMAP-based plugin for Outlook that can also store Outlook
collaboration objects (calendar, tasks, notes, etc.) in IMAP messages on the
server side. It does not require special server extensions, and it was
actually (mostly) working with 1.0-stable.
Below is a rawlog dump showing what is going back and forth. After

Hi,
I am getting the following error in the server mail logfile:

the log file, ie. no log events for several minutes, and then it
appears, all of a sudden).
On the client side, it looks like this (with some

0.99.6rc1 released
Again rc, just in case I broke something. Or maybe I should just start
creating nightly CVS snapshots. Anyway, fixes the few bugs people have
reported lately:
- Mails with nested MIME parts might have caused incorrect BODY and
BODYSTRUCTURE fetches and sometimes might have crashed dovecot
(assert at imap-bodystructure.c). If client had already successfully
done the BODY fetching a

Assertion failure in maildir-mail.c for gzipped maildir files in 1.1.15
I attempted an upgrade from 1.1.7 to 1.1.15 and encountered an apparent
regression in handling gzipped maildir files.
I have tried to narrow down the conditions under which it happens and
reproduce it with as simple a case as possible. The actual mail
application that exposed this problem is Squirrelmail.
Starting off with the index files removed from the "Folder" maildir
directory:
