Problem installing latest dovecot w vpopmail
Hello - I am trying to migrate my dovecot installation from an older server running version 1.x to the latest 2.0.3 When I run configure --with-vpopmail, it bombs pretty quick as follows: ./configure --with-vpopmail checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p checking for

vpopmail and shared mailbox
hi all, I'm a long time courier-imap user and just switched to dovecot-1.2.1. my MTA is qmail and all user accounts are virtual vpopmail users. getting dovecot to work was mostly painless, but I am desperately trying to share a user's mailbox and can't seem to figure out how. unfortunately the documentation is not very helpful. I am trying to share the mailbox

Vpopmail + Expire Plugin
Hi, I've changed my running qmail/vpopmail/procmail/courier-imap/sqwebmail installation to qmail/vpopmail/siege/dovecot/horde imp. So far, I've got everything running. Authentification with vpopmail as passdb is working, Mail delivery with siege into different Mail folders is working as well. One of the reasons why I switched to dovecot was the expire plugin and right now I'm trying

I am building a new server with dovecot/qmail/vpopmail/mysql and emails are sending and recieving fine when the quota is set to NOQUOTA, but when the quota is changed qmail doesn't deliver any messages. I have read the docs and still need some help understanding the process for dovecot quotas relating to the vpopmail mysql database

vpopmail support?
Well, I read that back in 0.98 or so vpopmail support should work so I assumed it would be enabled in 0.99 but here's what I get. gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I../../src/lib -I/usr/local/vpopmail/include -g -O2 -Wall -W -g -O2 -Wall -W -c userinfo-vpopmail.c In file included from userinfo-vpopmail.c:12: /usr/local/vpopmail/include/vpopmail.h:133: syntax error before `*' ***

Multiple auth checkers
I noticed this is in the TODO: - support for multiple auth checkers. passdb+userdb should be tied together. auth process configurations really should be used for this.. and is functionality that I really would like, as I have local users (passwd+shadow) and vpopmail users. In -test7's dovecot-example.conf, there is a different format for "blocking" multiple auth types, and I

vpopmail quota
Hi, I'd like the vpopmail user database to return the quota settings for users, instead of having to rely on the validity of the maildirsize files. It doesn't look like this is currently possible. Would simply adding a auth_stream_reply_add call for "quota" with a suitable value in vpopmail_lookup be sufficient to make this work? (the quota can be read from the pw_shell

Vpopmail Dynamic Authentication Module
Hello, We currently use qmail with vpopmail for e-mail and are looking to switch from courier-imap to dovecot for IMAP on our RedHat EL 5 systems. Our goal is to use the dovecot RPM supplied by RH (v1.0.7) if at all possible. We can do this if we are able to dynamically load the vpopmail auth module. The wiki (http://wiki.dovecot.org/CompilingSource) notes that this should be possible:

Compiling v1.3 on different OSes
I was hoping to finally get shared libdovecot.so and libdovecot-storage.so libraries for v1.3, so Sieve (and maybe others) could link against them. But I'm running into trouble getting it to compile in Solaris 10. Could you non-Linux users test if this compiles with you? http://dovecot.org/tmp/dovecot-1.3.UNSTABLE.tar.gz Or if anyone has ideas why this happens, I'd like to know:

Hi all, I'm facing this error: dovecot: auth(default): vmysql: sql error[3]: MySQL server has gone away I've been reading this list archives and seems to be a resolved issue (back to 2005), so dovecot should just reconnect but it does not so. More than one auth method with dovevot 0.99.10.4 - how?
We're setting up a server with qmail/vpopmail and dovecot. In addition to vpopmail users we want non-virtual, local users to be able to authenticate and have them read the Maildir in their real $HOME. vpopmail userdb/passwd works fine. Now how do I tell dovecot to use passwd (or PAM) userdb/passdb authentication too? /etc/dovecot.conf: [...] auth = default auth_mechanisms = plain
