CentOS 5.3 Xen installation trouble installing FUSE
Hi, I've got CentOS 5.3 installed as a Xen client installed. I've recently been trying to install TrueCrypt on the VM, but am having miserable troubles with the Fuse kernel module. To date, I've installed the following packages: yum install truecrypt yum install fuse However, to launch the fuse module, I need the dkms_autoinstaller running. However, when I try to start the

Migrate windows VM from i386 Host to x86_64 host
Somehow one of our Xen servers ended up loaded with the i686 xen kernel, instead of the x86_64. The host has one windows VM running on it. The OS partition is file-based, but it also has a logical volume partition assigned for data. We would like to migrate the host server to a 64-bit kernel, which means moving the VM to one of our other 64-bit host servers. We tried simply copying the OS

Below is output from yum update. Don't know when or what's caused the dependencies to go haywire with the apache or httpd stuff, but would appreciate pointers. Upgrade fm 4.7 to 5.3: mptscsi module?
First issue: I did an upgrade from 4.7 to 5.3 on an HP DL380G3 box. I got yum working again and upgraded 160+ packages. During that process I saw: ------------------------------------------- Installing : kernel-PAE [157/322] WARNING: No module mptscsi found for kernel 2.6.18-128.2.1.el5PAE, continuing anyway Installing : kernel [158/322] WARNING:

CentOS-5.3 + DRBD-8.2 + OCFS2-1.4
I've run into a problem mounting an OCFS2 filesystem on a DRBD device. I think it's the same one discussed at http://lists.linbit.com/pipermail/drbd-user/2007-April/006681.html When I try to mount the filesystem I get a ocfs2_hb_ctl: I/O error: [root at node-6A ~]# mount -t ocfs2 /dev/drbd2 /cshare ocfs2_hb_ctl: I/O error on channel while starting heartbeat mount.ocfs2: Error when

problem with udev when booting kernel 5.3 release 128.4.1
Hi List, I am running a 64 bit 5.3 kernel on an intel mb and all has been well. Today I thought it would be okay to reboot so that the latest kernel was running - i.e move from 128.2.1 to 128.4.1 release. The system passes POST fine, grub passes control to the 128.4.1 kernel and the boot process is under way. after some 30 secs the system starts beeping - continuously. After I hooked up a

Several errors
Hi, Running OS: CentOS 5.3 (2.6.18-128.2.1.el5) 1. My Linux distribution comes with Dovecot 1.0.7. After trying to make it running, I encoutnered many problems. So I decided to upgrade to 1.2.1. When running dovecot -r from CLI, it returns with version 1.2.1. But at the top of the log file it says: Info: Dovecot v1.0.7 starting up So I am not sure which version I am running. That's the

Migrating from KVM to XEN - kernel panic
First let me say that I'm not a sysadmin, but am simply wearing that hat this week so please excuse my ignorance. I need to temporarily move some virtual servers from a CentOS-KVM platform to a CentOS-XEN platform while I do some upgrades to the CentOS box. I've created a local LV, and used DD and SCP to transfer the block device from the VKM machine to the XEN machine. For quite a

Re: Active Directory Authentication working only for a subset of accounts-SOLVED
Apparently our winbindd_idmap.tdb was corrupt. We did a net idmap dump to get what we could out of it, shutdown winbind, net idmap restore, and restarted winbind and everything looks good. We had to chgrp and chown some small handfull of files but not many because luckily this server never made it to production (because we discovered this problem early on). On 2/6/07, Ramius
