Edit request for DirectoryServerSetup
Hi,
I'd like to make (or request) a change to
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/DirectoryServerSetup.
This still lists the testing repository as the current location for the
centos-ds packages. However, as of May 2009, they are now in the extras
repository[1].
It would be nice to add some additional quick steps to this page as
well, such as running ds-admin-setup.pl, registering with another

Proposal: Java HowTo Section
In "Wiki Access Request for Java How To's" I mentioned that I wanted to
create a Java HowTo section on the wiki. I'd like to provide a more
detailed proposal for adding more Java documentation.

Netscape Directory Server 6?
I understand that Red Hat has purchased and open-sourced (well sort
of) what was formerly known as Netscape Directory Server. I am
looking for version 6 of netscape directory server, does anyone know
if this is available somewhere?
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/dir-server/release-notes/ds60relnotes.html
Or can you only get the newest Fedora Directory Server now?

When CDs Go Bad
Hi All,
Some of the discussion recently has touched on ripping one's own CDs
for archival purposes. I've consistantly rejected the idea of doing
this in my case for space and time reasons, and in the belief that
commercially produced CDs when properly treated can be expected to have
a very long life. However, I'm now questioning this assumption.
I have a 2 CD set of "The

Fw: [Fedora-directory-announce] Fedora Directory Server news!
For those of you who have been following Red Hat's purchase of
Netscape Directory Server from AOL last fall (and possibly have been
playing with the "technology preview release" from RHN from earlier
this year), Red Hat has made good on GPL'ing it (which they were
entitled to as of April 30, 2005 per their contract with AOL).
To me, this is probably the most exciting

tomcat errors starting after upgrade from cent5.3 to 5.5 (/rebuild-jar-repository: error: Could not find)
We just upgraded Cent from 5.3 to 5.5 on a bunch of servers with
little to no issues (kudos to you guys) except on a few servers where
it appears we are having a problem w/ the Tomcat upgrade. Previously
our application server was working fine under 5.3 with Tomcat/Java
installed as such:
java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-1.4.2.0-40jpp.115
java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0-0.30.b09.el5

Need Java plugin for Firefox in CentOS 5.3
Somewhere during the course of recent updates I've lost the Java plugin
for Firefox. Not sure when it happened, but I know Java was working in
Firefox earlier this year. Firefox comes up empty when searching for a
suitable plugin. I'm running a fully updated CentOS 5.3 with the
following packages installed:
firefox-3.0.12-1.el5.centos.i386.rpm

Java RE
Hello.
Package Manager reports (with a green checkmark) that I have java-1.6.0
installed on my machine (running Cent 5.3), but it seems to not be
running. I used http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml and got
"Something is wrong. Java is not working."
Perhaps I'm confused on which program I need to use java-coded apps. PM
lists this app as "OpenJDK Runtime

Centos 5.1
I'm about to try Centos 5 (first time user).
Question: I have the 5.0 CD-ROMs, so can I install with them and them
update to 5.1 via the internet, or should I use the 5.1 CDs?
Thanks.
